    I was taking a walk when I noticed an elderly lady, obviously distraught, wandering down my street. When I asked her what was wrong, I learned that she spoke only Spanish. Google Translate came to the rescue! Use its conversational mode, another neighbor and I learned that she was lost and wanted to get back home. We also got a translation of her address, and got her on her way home. The elderly lady was very appreciative. Google Translate made the world just a little better, and more kind.

    I loved the previous Google Translate version. It was easy to use and very simple; pretty good translations, too. I used it several times a week. Now, I have the updated version. I don’t like this new version because it requires me to learn how to use it, again. It is not self evident how to use it. Things are in different locations. It doesn’t copy and paste and translate like it once did. If I could, I’d uninstall the new version and go back to the old version. I dropped my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars, and I feel that 3 stars is being generous, but I give credit for the good translation, and take away credit for the poor, less user friendly interface. You guys goofed up.

    I just noticed today the method of using this app has been changed, that’s why I am here to give a low rate. I hate this new method and doesn’t make a sense why had to be changed? Please return back that thing for this app because I am using it every hour. Thanks.

  • Transcribing - game changer!!

    I finally found an app that can provide live transcription. I often have to attend meetings with Spanish speakers and this helps me understand a bit more than before as I continue to learn the language. It lags a tiny bit while it’s translating and the audio needs to be fairly clear by the speaker but it’s working and I do hope more improvements come with time. This is the only free app that I’ve found that can do this and allow me to save the transcript. Great job!

    Обновление не совсем удобно для изучения языка (в моем случае английский). В предыдущей версии было очень удобно, можно было видеть варианты значения слова сразу под строкой перевода. Сейчас же нужно листать в самый низ, под «примеры для слова». Так же история теперь расположена в строке аккаунт, что также не удобно, если нужно быстро посмотреть слово, которое недавно записал, например. Если бы можно было вернуть старую версию, я бы это сделала. Понимаю, что разработчики стараются над дизайном приложения, но теперь оно мало чем отличается от встроенного переводчика на iOS.
