This service consistently deletes my old photos. This is the second time I’m restoring from personal hard drive backups. I’m on the paid tier. Do not trust this service!
  • Buggy and Not user friendly

I have backup disabled in app, and its still atempting to backup my 100gb IOS photolibrary. Do not download if you have more than 15gbs of photos, it will block all incoming emails on your gmail account and make you subscribe for more storage, disabling backup or deleting the app will NOT solve the issue, currently cant receive any emails.

Even by Google’s lowest-in-the-industry privacy standards this app is pretty appalling…
  • Doesn’t save to your email like I thought

This app isn’t bad J actually we like it until the app offloaded from my phone and when I downloaded it back all of my photos were deleted. I thought they would save since they’re are linked to my email but they didn’t. As long as you never delete the app you should be fine, but if you’re someone who thought it saved on your email it doesn’t.

I can’t get emails and work on Google docs all bc of this sorry app! I’ve had this app for years so I do have a lot of photos on here but u didn’t think that would ever be an issue bc they were so big on “it never runs out of storage” over the years I guess they got money, hungry, and wants everybody to pay for more storage. It’s a good app but DO NOT USE YOUR EVERYDAY EMAIL!!!! I wish my younger self knew what bc now I have to change my Google doc email and my email bc Google photos is taking up so much space. And Ik I could delete some stuff but I fr had this app since 2015 when it came out. And no they won’t let you change ur email for Google photos😍
  • Poor organization options

When I move pics to albums the originals still remain unorganized. Assume they are duplicates and it’s confusing.

The update is allowing malicious code to enter my phone settings.
  • iOS Widget Disappeared

With the most recent app update, the iOS/iPadOS widget is gone. The existing widget I had in place now shows just a white screen. And when attempting to re-add a new widget, Google Photos doesn’t show up with any available widget options. Not sure if intentional or not, but a big bummer either way.
