This app has potential but gosh the news is always OLD I mean I constantly get news at least 15hrs old. Come on! There is new news every minute.
  • No Dark Theme Yet

    By wmtr3110
Finally Google released the dark theme for this iOs version of this app. Much better!!!!! I still use the old app as this one doesn’t have a dark theme option. Please provide that and I’ll start using it.
  • Videos autoplay even though off in settings

    By ozgur2017
I switched the video autoplay setting to "Disabled" but the videos continue to autoplay. e.g. from the headlines section I choose a news article from cnn which generally has a short video clip up in the beginning of the article and it immediately starts to play without hitting the play icon. How can I stop this?
  • Great news app aggregate

    By bstef
This is a great news app and it's better when you sign in with your Google account to get personalized news. The interface is clean and modern and easy to swipe between sections. Thanks for adding the dark mode. I been waiting for it!
  • Too much added headache

Honestly, the app was so clean before. Now it’s too flashy
  • Fix the “See Fewer/Hide All From Function”

    By Mara_Lilim
I normally use Google News as my news source. However I typically use it for gaming news and other things that I’m interested in. The “See Fewer” and “Hide All” from so-and-so source do not work the way they should. If I select “See Fewer” it means I’m not interested in the topic and would like to see LESS of that topic. It does NOT mean I want to see more of the topic. And no, I’m not accidentally pressing the option that gives more of that topic. I have no interest stuff like football or other sports yet I get spammed to sh*t with sports related articles. There’s also an issue where sources that are on your hidden sources list will reappear in your “For You” section. I’ve hidden Fansided (a sports website) about nine times and it keeps reappearing in my feed! You should also have the option to hide videos and remove tweets for certain articles (because Twitter is not a news source in any way).
  • Flipboard replacement!

    By dwilsonsf
All in all I’m rather happy with the app. The one bit I would refine is the open in browser setting, it open an article as a webview in the app, and another tap is required to them open that article in the browser. There is no need for the webview preview imho. In regard to replacing flipboard I’m mostly happy that ads don’t take over the app when viewing articles and cause odd problems like video playing automatically or pop ups being out of control. 👍
  • Not accessible; horrible visual design

    By Anna the Wacky Banana
This app doesn’t respect the ios system accessibility settings. There’s an option which seems like it would do this, but it doesn’t work. Subsequently, the text of articles is waaay to small for anyone over the age of 40 to read. (But since there are few of said people at Google, they obviously never considered this) Also, the highly gratuitous “Ken Burns Effect” on article thumbnail images is super annoying. Not sure why someone thought that was a good idea. Just because you *can* make a nifty animation doesn’t mean you should! Very unusable. Deleted.
