this is by far one of the most frustrating music apps. when it goes good, it’s good. when it’s not, it’s reallyyy not. there are so many random annoying bugs like today i can’t pause my music and it doesn’t tell me how far into the song i am. like even when i’m half way through the play time stays at 0:00. frustrating to pay for something just to have it give me so many issues.

i’ve been a prime member for a few years and recently decided to use amazon music to listen to podcasts. one good thing is some of the podcasts i enjoy are add-free through amazon. however, i rarely get to listen to a full episode without the app crashing. during playback and without warning, the app will completely shut down to the point where it’s no longer in my background apps. usually i’ll restart it, find the episode i was listening to, and try to resume playback but within minutes the app will crash again. this occurs multiple times a week, sometimes multiple times a day. some days there is no crashing but when it does happen it’s too frequent to justify paying for this service. i’ve kept the app up to date and this issue has persisted over the last couple of versions. hope to see this resolved in some capacity.

I was using mostly Amazon Music for quite a while since we are prime members and I was getting introduced to all kinds of new music while still being able to listen to many of my old favorites. It was pretty great. Now if I try to find a song I used to have saved to a playlist I can’t listen to it anymore. Now it offers a different song. I like trying new stuff but I don’t want to just have to listen to everyone’s B sides. I’m sure there is a way but you know, if you’re going to make it complicated, I’ll just switch to something that makes it easier for me.

I’ve had this app since ‘17 or so. Never had a problem until today. Songs started cutting off & the app shutting down halfway through. This happened repeatedly. I uninstalled the app, Re-downloaded it & was met w/a “contact us” message. Upon contact w/two separate representatives(the second of which had no history of my initial complaint)I was told the issue was: my apple app was the problem. When I pointed out I’d had the app & been using it a lot for years, I got no response. They claim their technicians are working on it & that I’d receive an email when it was fixed. Until then, I can’t even view, much less listen, to music. I was told I was not the only customer w/this problem. Anyone else experience this?

Can’t handle transition from wifi to cellular, crashes constantly during podcast and can barely work on cellular.
  • Great for music, less so for podcasts

Let me start with the fact that no one seems to handle podcasts well, for iOS anyway. As for Amazon Music, sis difficult and inconsistent, following on to the next episode fails regularly, and the 15 second rewind most often ends up skipping ahead instead. Very frustrating when trying to skip back to hear something missed, and instead are kipped forward. Scrubbing the progress bar is the only reliable way to “back up” the audio stream. In car mode, it is impossible, as scrubbing is not an option. On the plus side, the audio quality is good, never had a problem with dropouts or “baked in” content skips like I’ve experienced with Sticher.
