Org Chart Maker

I needed a way to create a taxonomy organizational chart for a very large website redevelopment project that I am managing and this app seemed to be the easiest and least expensive option. It did what I needed it to do, but there are still some bugs in this program. For example, after entering in all of the fields I wanted to create in the file (worksheet) view, the program simply locked up and would no longer function. Fortunately, I had been saving my work regularly as I made entries, and I was able to close the program and restart it. However, the chart view would only show the ‘sample chart,’ and I could no longer view the original chart I had created. However, I was able to ‘export’ that file and then I created a new chart and imported the original data into this new chart file and I was back in business, but there were a few items that I had to manipulate. So my advice is to both Save the file and also Export it periodically, so you have something to fall back on should the program lock up. There are a few things that I wish the app would do. The chart blocks appear as you enter the date from left to right or top to bottom. There is no easy way to rearrange the order of the blocks if you decided to add another block later that you want to appear in a position other than on the right or bottom of the group. I wish you could click and drag a box, or assign an order within the list in the file view to rearrange the order the boxes appear on your chart. Your only option is to go back and edit each line in the file view to make the boxes appear in the order that you want them. Also, it would be nice to be able to click on a box in the chart view and have that action open the edit function on the corresponding line in the file view. As it stands now, you have to scan the entire list of files to find the corresponding line within the file list to make an edit. That is pretty easy if you have a simple chart with only a few blocks, but if you have a large chart with lots of relationships among the various blocks, it can be tedious to scan the entire list to make a simple text edit to the text in one of the boxes. Also, it would be helpful to be able to make universal changes to a group of boxes, either by dragging and highlighting a group of boxes to say change a color or font, without having to click on each box and make the edits individually. Having said all of that, for the price the app did what I wanted it to do without a substantial investment. So for the price I really can’t expect too much. However, one can always ask. The most annoying part is how promising it looks and totally fails to deliver. One incredibly annoying piece is that it constantly auto-corrects what I am trying to type into the boxes. If I want to use _,*, & or other characters it simply removes it!!! Even when I turn off auto correct, and anything that I can find it keeps correcting it. VERY VERY annoying. Make it stop please.

I have 12 items reporting to the lead. The program lines them all up horizontally which is fine, but it winds up being very wide layout. Wish there was a feature to make a second row but those still reporting to the lead. Also would not print. Heading is not centered. It would be a lot better if one could drag and drop the different nodes to where you want them. Generally disappointed.

This was a waste of my money after downloading it, it did nothing that it was supposed to do, and my money should be refunded.

I’m sure there are better apps for Organization charts. Won’t allow you to center/align the documents - felt like the app is pretty elementary

There is no flexibility and not easy to use!!

The applications showed promise as it was easy to use, visually aesthetic, and the Grid entry tool made for quick data entry. There was a lot I would have preferred to see but decided that I could live without like: 1. The lack of Vector line graphics similar to VISIO. 2. The lack of paper size formatting, and chart size formatting. 3. The lack of dotted line connections for multi layer reporting. But then came the bombs …….. I was horrified to find out that the tool only supports 93 lines of data. This almost made me cry as I spent a few hours entering and updating data into the Grid, only to find out that there was no way to add additional lines. My organization is 102 members deep and I spent all that time for NOTHING. Next, when I sent I ticket on their website to explain this problem and hopefully discover a resolve, I never got a response. A week went by and nothing! I sent multiple requests, and nothing! Apparently these guys are just coasting on the App store collecting their $9.99 a pop hits with no intension of supporting this product. Very Disappointing

I found this chart VERY restrictive in what one can do!! NOT what I was hoping for!! I will have to find a different application!

I'm in college for business and I bought this product for an assignment to make a basic organizaional structure. It wouldn't do basic structures that I'm learning about like matrix and others. This product is complete garbage! This isn't even with $.99. I would rate this a zero even if it was free. I contacted the company for my money back hours after I purchased it once I realized it doesn't do what it claims. Weeks later I still have not had a reply from the makers of this APP. Don't even bother with this APP at all.

But without an import feature, anyone with serious data has no way to import. No import help exists if there’s an undocumented way.
