  • Finally! Relief from a too-bright screen!

I’m someone who gets headaches from screens/lights at times. The minimum brightness on my Macbook Pro is wayyy to bright to read the pdfs of my college textbooks on. Sweet relief. This may be the best dollar I’ve ever spent. The app works wonderfully.
  • Good App but one flaw

I used another app called Shades for years on previous macs and it was great. No frills it came on when I restarted the computer and dimmed it nicely. Unfortuately with Mojave it's no longer supported so I tried this app which does bascially the same thing. It's no frills easy to use etc. The only reason I took away one star is that i have to physically turn it on after a restart. It won't automatically restart even with it being listed in my start up disk items to start when the comptuer starts up. I have tried to find the option to make it "start" within the app but unable to do so. It would also be awesome if you could make it to where when we are using non apple monitors that the keyboard F1/F2 brightness functions could be used to control it.

While switching certain windows or applications or performing certain functions there are momentary lapses of the shade functionality resulting in bright flashes. Other than this its a great aplication.

Finally a screen that doesnt seem like a giant spotlight in a dark room! This is hands down the best app I’ve ever purchased! It does exactly what it claims and demonstrates in the pictures! I will note thought that the apple logo on the back of the mac does not dim with this app, but they never claimed that so its fine.

This app is exactly what I wanted. I like to work on my Mac in a low light room. I prefer a very dim screen when the room is dark. My Mac just didn’t dim as dark as I needed it to be. The description of the app looked perfect for my needs, so I bought it. Best $0.99 I ever spent! All I had to do was open the app and click “on” and my screen was at the perfect dimness for me. I didn’t need to fiddle with any of the controls (although I could have if I wanted to) to get the screen at a comfortable light level. My eyes thaned me right away!
  • Makes it darker

Well, it certainly makes the screen darker. It’s less straining on my eyes. To an extent. If I go too dark, I can’t see the text I’m writing (and I don’t want to convert to white text). But it does go much darker than the lowest Apple setting. I’m glad I purchased it.
  • Dimness with no added hue

It does exactly what I need it to do, and does not change the dominant hue of the screen — I don’t want the screen to turn orangey, and it does not. Perfect.
