My 8yr old daughter took her Gizmo on a trip she went on with her aunt. I was unable to go join them. I tracked her the whole time & had tremendous peace of mind. She sent me audio and video files, pictures and was even able to call and ask for information. The watch did get heated & turned off when in direct sunlight too long. This thing definitely did it’s job though!

We’ve had lots of glitches. But when it works, it’s great. Not very user friendly. Notifications are overbearing. I can’t find how to control what kind of notifications I get without turning off messages incoming from my kid. GPS on the watch is often off. Ive heard stories from some parents where it gave them a scare. Wish the watch could receive text messages from outside the app. The watch and software can be exclusive. Our kid can’t receive text messages from his grandparents and friends.

When trying to take a photo and send to my child’s watch the app freezes 98% of the time. Other than this, it’s not bad at all.

I am assigned as a caregiver and trying to approve it is saying the number is invalid, despite adding correct info

Following the last update the app continues to crash every time I open the dashboard to see location. Useless!
  • Good…. When it does work.

GPS is not accurate as far as location or doesn’t update I would say 50-60% of the time. It can be quite concerning when you get a notification that your child “Is not at one of their places” especially for the little ones and it shows they are down the street or half way across town from where they are supposed to be. This is one of the main reasons why I bought the watch being my 9yr old daughter has after school activities or drop her off for softball/soccer practice while I need to bring my younger child to hers.
  • I like it but one thing….

Disappointed that I got this device feeling like I had control over what my child could text and then with a recent update she now has access to entire keyboard. I also feel like this device doesn’t work well.. there is sometimes a big delay when I send something and when she receives my texts which is concerning in an emergency or if I need to let her know plans have changed.
  • Always freezes

The app is always unresponsive. I have an iPhone 15 Pro. The fact that the app doesn’t work consistently kind of makes the watch less useful for our kids.
  • Important functions unusable

The point of this watch is, among other things, to keep track of my child’s physical location in case of abduction or emergency. The map accuracy is off by anywhere from blocks to nearly a mile! When I sat at my kitchen table with the watch, the app showed the watch in a stranger’s house 2 blocks away! When I dropped by kid off at school, the app shows the watch is at a dental office on the other side of the neighborhood! So in an emergency, this would have me or the police looking several blocks away from where my child actually is. Since tracking the location of the watch is marketed as one of the primary features of the watch, this is a HUGE FAILURE! This needs to be addressed and corrected ASAP! This technical issue defeats the primary purpose of the watch and makes it nearly useless for its intended purpose. Also, the app only allows ONE person to be designated as an Emergency Contact. So either dad or mom, but not both. This is also unacceptable. The watch is on my Verizon account, but I want my wife to be an emergency contact when I’m at work. Finally, and this is a significant problem, the app only allows texting or video calls to other people who also have the GizmoHub app. Otherwise, the watch can make simple phone calls. So unless the others want to add another app, this app, to their smartphones, they cannot text the child. So grandma cannot gets texts or video calls unless she can install and figure out how to set up this app on her, already full, smartphone. Why? The service is running on my Verizon cellular account. My iPhone has no problems contacting others. What’s the reason THIS app is needed to access and use common smartphone functions? Overall, I think the watch is mostly OK and this app is below the standard. Gizmo, address these issues and push an update. Texting as well as calling should be a no-brainer for this. Those are minimum acceptable standard. The GPS location must be updated for accuracy immediately. The inaccuracy is completely unacceptable! This is 2024 and you can do better. We demand better for our children.
