  • Great features, BUT…

After 2 1/2 years and several updates, I don’t see bugs getting fixed anymore. PROBLEM 1: I typically ride 30 to 50 miles, and I have to say, almost half of those rides experience Cyclemeter STOPPING (stops tracking) somewhere in the middle of a ride. Sure, there’s an alert, but my screen is usually off so I don’t see it until I happen to open up my phone again. So instead of sending me an alert, why doesn’t Cyclemeter just resume the tracking? PROBLEM 2: The Apple Watch. Way too unreliable with Cyclemeter. The heart rate tracking works less than 50% of the time My watch definitely gets heart rate for the whole day, but somehow Cyclemeter cannot reliably interact with the watch. Referring to the documentation, it tells us things like “best to not change settings“. How about something a little more explicit than that? I loved my Cyclemeter, I recommended it to many people. But I can no longer do that. Unless I see significant change, I will no longer renew my subscription when it comes due.
  • Ads come on when starting the app even with paid membership

Advertisements come on and take five minutes to get closed this is very annoying when sitting on the bike getting ready to ride, I have a paid subscription and I am getting slammed with advertisements when starting the app and when I stop the ride count. I will be looking for another app that does not spam me to death! When technology is partnered with greed it’s not worth having.

I’d give this 5 stars but for the frustration of constant ads even though I have a premium subscription. Also, too complicated to switch from indoor to outdoor riding (no GPS va GPS). Overall, great to have cadence speed and heart rate.

While I only use a small portion, the feature set on this app is extensive. Beyond the feature set, things I love about this app is the data stays on your device, can be exported and very importantly the data can be edited. I started on Android and needed to switch to ios. Because the data is on your device the process is a bit tricky, but the great support team (shout-out to Fran) walked me through the whole process. I am now happily on the iso version with all my data carried over. I highly recommend. Update Mar 2024 I recently added the Cyclemeter Bike Display. Love this display. No longer do I have to try to peek at my apple watch while I’m riding, nor do I have to have my phone precariously mounted on the handlebar. The display pages are highly customizable and easy to read. Before I made the purchase, I had some questions that were promptly and thoroughly answered by the support group (again shout-out to Fran). I highly recommend the display.

this app has awesome metrics and data, but the added benefit is I have gotten lost a timer to when doing a long trail ride and I can easily check out the map of where have i come from and find my way back home. And then when it's all done, you can still upload the Strava or whatever app. Get this app!!
