  • Could be better

    By Backroad Rider
The NYT: Too many articles and opinion pieces are repeated. In fact—there are too many opinions and personal experiences. (Do you really want to know what someone is doing on their weekend?) Today, at least, when I clicked on The Weekender, elven articles were shown but I couldn’t’ access any of them (most were repeat articles). After listening to a song from a review article; a small white box appeared that I don’t know how to get rid of it. If you want to read the Times, the audio articles are not appealing and can be distracting if you are in a public place. Beware of the Wirecutter reviews, like most such evaluations, they don’t have a large selection of brands and may miss better products plus some of their evaluation criteria is too narrow. The coverage of Congress seems based on what is controversial and seldom reports on new laws that may be very relevant to business and/or citizens.
  • Routinely buggy

    By Skoki N
The app regularly fails to respond when I want to view a story or to change to a view of sections. Today I closed and restarted the app, browsed the App Store for updates (nothing new), searched the internet for tips. How does a major news organization continue to charge for this junky software? Perhaps I should switch to the Washington Post.
  • Great news source. Can I have a search option?

    By cjaccino1
It’s the strangest thing. I saw a story in NYT that I wanted to read, so I go to Google to search for it. This because there’s no search feature in the app. I can select the article and hope to be rerouted back into my phone’s NYT app. All this because, I assume, a product manager or sufficiently enabled app manager has a philosophy about how I should read the news. Let’s get over it and make the news searchable please.
  • CrashCrashCrash

    By BiggNateP
The incessant reloading of ads on this subscription based app causes it to crash far too often. Im not angry enough to cancel my subscription, just enough to vent about this ridiculousness. Excelsior.
  • Notification drive / link errors

    By jkdSOM
It drives me absolutely crazy that when I click a notification about a specific headline story, the app doesn’t drive me to that article or story. It drives me to a main page feed. This is infuriating and enough to delete the app
  • Games are buggy

    By Apple User Autumn
Under the ‘Play’ section games constantly reset and progress gets erased. For example, Wordle or the Crossword will randomly reload and delete progress. If one clicks into Mini Crossword after completion, it will continue to run the clock. Spelling bee does not save history correctly. Many bugs- crazy for such a large platform
  • App crashes

    By Tony3555
This is the only app that I use that crashes, and it happens pretty often.
  • Why do you need 2gb of cache on my phone?

    By peterobbin
Can’t you just clean the cache periodically?
  • Please fix the crashing!

    By JohnSup
This is a recurring issue. Every 2-3 updates, the app simply crashes after about 60 seconds of use. Scrolling the headlines or reading an article, it makes no difference. App is currently unusable on my iPad (works fine on an iPhone)
  • Why can’t I customise the home page?

    By Frog11215
This is a great app, as long as you accept the NYT approach to the news. Yet you cannot select the sections that are interesting to you. Most of the quality news organisations offer this service, why not the NY Times. They do not know what are my interest and should allow me to choose what is on my home page.,
