  • Ads. Ugh

I don’t mind the ads. Reason for title and rating is about every 3rd or 4th ad , it locks up & have to restart app. Very annoying. Really the only complaint I have.
  • Hardly any storyline

I love doctor who and I love that they have brought in several characters from several regenerations. However, it is not a very exciting game. It is a simple farming game. You wait and wait for the timer to turn and you earn more points to increase the power that the timer produces. Nothing more unfortunately. I wish there was more narration but you only get 30 seconds of story and then wait for hours for 30 seconds more. I wanted to love it. Unfortunately, it is just a time waster.

I like the game but the constant pop ups trying to get me to spend a ridiculous amount of money are super annoying. Like please stop interrupting the game to tell me I can spend 4.99 on a stupid event. Also who is paying 19.99 for the membership cause that’s a ridiculous price I’d maybe do it for a couple dollars but are you serious 20$ is insane.

Events keep getting worse. Not worth time or effort. Every chapter you redo the same thing. Over. And over. And over. Boring. Every event the instructions are repeated. Even though everything is the same. Over and over and over. Boring. There’s literally nothing to work towards. Just an endless cycle. Sooooooo dull. Really wish this wasn’t what the IP was getting wasted on.
  • Fun game…potentially expensive

This is a fun game. The problem is that if you want to get far enough along at a decent speed you will have to spend a lot of money on boosts. It adds up quickly. And the farther along you get the more they charge.
  • It sure is an idle game

Hey, do you like Doctor Who? This might it might not be the game for you. Do you like references to Doctor Who that are mostly ‘I know what/who that is!”? Congrats, this is for you. The actual attempt at a story is pretty boring and my biggest complaint is the literally nonstop ‘special events’. Guys, they’re no longer special if they’re multiple times per week lasting 1-4 days and spoon feed you the instructions to them every single time as if you’re brand new. Also every single event has multiple purchase offers which doesn’t make any sense because nothing you get from them is that good and you start from scratch every time a new event starts. You’re asking me to pay 5 dollars for small jpgs of doctor who characters and they won’t even exist after 4 days but it might be enough to earn me other small jpg awards? Like I know idle games at their core are mostly pointless but god, with this constant cycle of death and rebirth while getting no traction at all with events, it feels like the game isn’t even pretending to matter at all. It’s just mindless consumption.
  • It’s fine, just clunky

There is an Ad skip, but it costs more than Netflix each month (most games are $10 forever). The event startup forces you to go through the same tutorial, three times a week. The one day events are way too easy and the four day ones are too hard and/or expensive. The two day events are well balanced. The story was compelling, but you hit the end quickly, so new players should maybe hold off until they backfill more content.

Another pay to win game… not just that you have to watch a constant stream of ads some of which are extremely long but if you want to even place in an event be prepared to open your wallet and pay lots of money. Whoever has the deepest pockets wins every time. Ridiculous. I enjoy classic Doctor Who but if this game wasn’t connected with that I’d give this game 1 star. Wish I could give it zero stars as a rating. If you decide to play this game just remember you are going to be paying and paying and watching ad after ad.
  • Don’t switch devices!

I am enjoying the game well enough overall, but the price of the subscription to eliminate adds is outrageous, and every time I close the game on my tablet and open it on my phone I lose substantial progress. Dr Who is a great property and idle games are my jam, so this should be a slam dunk, but not so much unfortunately.

This app is not exciting, not even for a die-hard Dr Who fan. Most of your time will be spent waiting for automated processes to gather resources so you can get to the next level, like SciFi Farmville. Plus the only way to make real progress is to spend a LOT of money on in-game items. Can’t recommend it.
