  • Now essential in my life.

I can’t say I’m a deep diver into the world of 1Password 8, but for how I use the app, it works well and seamlessly. I’ve been using 1Password for about 6 or 7 years now? Maybe more. Essential.
  • Adding an item creates two of the same item

When adding a new entry, after saving the item you are taken to a partially saved item if you click “View item” afterwards. The original is saved, but you're left with looking at a partially saved item. Quality has gone down since v8 was released without feature parity to v7.
  • 1Password Business: Leading the Pack in Password and Secrets Management

Navigating the digital world safely is a must, and 1Password Business is at the forefront, making it easy for everyone on your team to stay secure and efficient. Whether it's seamless access through EntraID for the less tech-savvy or complex SSH integrations for the developers, 1Password covers all bases brilliantly. **Ease of Use for Everyone** 1Password takes the hassle out of logging in, even for those who aren't tech wizards. The use of EntraID means anyone can get into their accounts quickly and without trouble, which is a big plus in any business setting where saving time and smooth access matter a lot. **Advanced Features for the Tech-Savvy** For those who need more technical control, 1Password doesn't disappoint. It's packed with developer-friendly tools and offers robust management of SSH keys, ensuring that sensitive info stays locked down and integrates well into any tech-heavy workflow. **Suggestions for Improvement** While 1Password is already top-notch, there's always room to get even better: 1. **MSP Managed Accounts**: A robust managed service provider (MSP) feature would be a game-changer for businesses managing client passwords and security standards. Imagine being able to get alerts and enforce rules like needing a business justification to access critical logins—this would take security and compliance up a notch. 2. **Custom Branding**: Adding some custom branding options would help make communications like emails stand out more. This could really help with making sure new employees or guests pay attention to important security info. 3. **Admin Service Account for EntraID**: It would be great to have a dedicated admin service account to manage EntraID connections. This way, everyone, including the account owners, can enjoy the same smooth login experience. **Conclusion** Despite a few areas ripe for improvement, 1Password Business is still the easiest and most secure choice out there. It simplifies security, making it more accessible for everyone, and with a few tweaks, it could be even better. It's definitely a win-win for both security and convenience in any business environment.
  • New update is bad

I’ve been using 1Pass for many many years. The big overhaul of 1Pass is a huge step backwards. It is buggy and many tasked that used to be quick and simple take many more steps to complete. Both on mobile and desktop. This was an update not to make 1Pass easier for users, this was an update to sell a subscription and the entire experience got worse because of it.
  • It worked … sometimes

… as advertised. Horrible integration! Difficult to use, I tried and failed to make it work better than my own system.
  • Security critical solutions cannot have this many bugs.

iOS bugs. macOS bugs. Web app bugs. Windows bugs. Incorrect documentation. Feels like a Toy Story meme about bugs. It’s hard to imagine a dev group cranking this ratio of defects in every area except core security. Even if it is the case that none of these frustrating issues impinge security, I’m not sure how to trust closed-source other than by an obviously stellar/unusual high level quality across the board. I don’t feel like I’m seeing anything like that. In fact, post 8.0, I feel I’ve had more frustration and wasted time from 1P issues than all the years and years prior combined.
  • Great but…

It seems time for a more watered down ‘lite’ and free version that is less intense with the features and thus simpler and more straight forward to use. The loaded-features nature of this app gets in its own way and family members run back to using Notes or something less intimidating.
  • Seems Good to Me

Recently upgraded the iOS app after getting a new phone. I deliberately waiting on upgrading to the latest app until I didn’t have a choice in light of all the negative reviews. To me, the iOS app seems to work perfectly fine and even with some improvements. I’m less of a fan with the changes on the macOS app. Having the window pop open seems unnecessary, and the overall UI doesn’t seem like an improvement; it’s too cumbersome and it requires unnecessary navigation steps. It was fine the way it was. Most of all, I would REALLY like to see the password generator brought back. Now the only way to create a new password is to go through the process of creating a new item itself, such as a login. But users often just need to generate a password on its own and not create a new entry.

The recent update has really been a major frustration with no resolution. It makes things feel so unsafe.
  • My Favorite and Most used App

I have used 1Password since it was first available and don’t know what I did without it. I used it not only for items that need to be secured, but also to keep track of serial numbers and warranties that I want at my fingertips. Being able to add attachments like receipts, etc. is a great feature. I like how the developer issues meaningful and useful updates, and specifically explains the content of those updates. Other apps I have issue “updates” but describe them in meaningless trite statements, like “we’ve squashed a few bugs” or “we’ve made this even better.” What does THAT mean?
