Description

Politonus II will help you improve your ability to identify intervals, triads and sevenths, in no time, by using machine learning to create the next exercise based on your progress. Every music interval, triad and seventh chord is represented by a sphere. As you improve your ear training skills, the spheres will move from the Unfamiliar area towards the Proficient area. Politonus II will create a series of “reverse ear training” exercises in which you must find the requested interval, triad or seventh hidden inside one of three spheres. The spheres will play in sequence. As soon as you know where the requested interval is, “double-tap” on the correct sphere to submit your answer. Politonus II include all intervals, triads and seventh chords. The different levels include: Melodic Intervals / Same Root Harmonic Intevrals / Same Root Melodic Intervals / Different Roots Harmonic Intervals / Different Roots Melodic Triads / Same Root Harmonic Triads / Same Root Melodic Triads / Different Roots Harmonic Triads / Different Roots Melodic Seventh Chords / Same Root Harmonic Seventh Chords / Same Root Melodic Seventh Chords / Different Roots Harmonic Seventh Chords / Different Roots

  • Possible bug?

I enjoy playing the game and believe it will help me develop my ear. My problem is that my progress is not saved; every time I open the app it starts over from the beginning. How will I ever see the higher level challenges? I purchased this app because of the promised feature that it will keep track of how I am doing and offer new challenges appropriate to my level, adapting as my skills improve. That isn’t happening. Is there an easy fix to this problem? Update: I deleted, then re-installed the updated version of the app. Problem solved!

A different approach to ear training. I found it helpful to compare the chord qualities of the 3 spheres especially in the dim and aug chord structures. Disappointed that the app doesn’t recall my previous level once I close and reopen the app.

I have tried many ear training apps and I can say this app is now one of my favorites. The app learns really fast where my weaknesses are and I have improved tons in just a few minutes of using it. The progress view not only shows you how well you are doing but you can also tap on each ball to hear the sound, really cool. It’s also nice to have an entire picture of all the possible intervals, triads and seventh chords.
