Leads come in for an “expensive/big job” but is a small event that you ultimately don’t get booked for because Thumbtack penalizes you for charging what your service is worth. It promotes a race to the bottom by pitting service providers against each other while charging enormous amounts for leads that don’t amount to anything. There is no way to know a lead was ever real. Youll find “leads” who refuse to speak on the phone about their booking and just ghost you after asking simple questions about their booking. If a request comes in for a job with a budget that is lower than what you advertise, Thumbtack won’t refund you for this erroneous lead. I’ve seen many call this app a scam, and I won’t go that far, but I suggest spending your advertising dollars elsewhere.

While it’s nice that you have one place for people to go to find help they charge contractors 40-50% on lead generated. Thumbtack needs to come back to reality

On TT, I offer music entertainment (degreed and licensed) but I also do furniture assembly. TT has given me nice opportunities to make some money and I appreciate the offers. BUT! I am NOT a fan of the fact that you pay for leads even when no one is hiring you. So far, I have completed 4 jobs but paid for close to 10. You sometimes get that money back, yes. However, I don’t do this work to come out of app given debt to see my profit. I will not be using this app too much longer.

Before was ok , now people don't respond the messeges anymore , no even to show the project , we call the number nobody answer , or call back !

Giving one lead to multiple pros and one customer contacts multiple pros even the customer trying to know the prices to fix their units you get charged. I activate it once I was charged $450 for couple leads that customers Contacted Me asking how much I charge they never call me back and not hired.

Don’t merry and sign up they want $200 up front then you have to pay about $20 for every “lead” before you can do a job. After you do a few jobs they start sending you fake leads so they can steal your money. You have to report to something like a “success manager” who you get a call from as soon as you put in your number. Very strange and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I downloaded the app and every time I get a lead Im charged at-least $10 for a job that the person I will not get a reply back! I have spent several hundred dollars and I have managed to receive leads that will not will charge you over $90 for jobs that will also have way too many competition or people will decide not to do the job anymore!

Almost 80% of leads and phone numbers are fake Don’t waste your money and time
