Description

A compelling narrative adventure by the BAFTA winning studio State of Play. South of the Circle is a deep narrative experience of the emerging relationship between Cambridge academics Peter and Clara, set against the backdrop of the Cold War. The story focuses on promises made between career and true love, and the devastating consequences of not dealing with the past. • Compelling and immersive narrative with a unique sense of time and place • Resonant dialogue with a unique emotion-based mechanic • Beautiful aesthetic and nuanced writing underlines the sweeping cinematic scope, further enhanced by actors drawn from “Bohemian Rhapsody” (Gwilym Lee), “The Woman in White” (Olivia Vinall), “The Crown” (Richard Goulding), “Game of Thrones” (Anton Lesser), “Chernobyl” (Adrian Rawlins) and “Downton Abbey” (Michael Fox). • Rich, authentic environments and deeply researched 1960s setting • From State of Play Games, developers of BAFTA winning Lumino City, BAFTA nominated KAMI 2 and Apple Design Award Winner INKS “You’ll feel fear, hope, sadness, consternation, and anger as well as that warm fuzziness you get from watching two people fall in love.” - God is a Geek “It's these human moments, powered by the superb performances, that make South of the Circle as moving and successful as it is.” - Eurogamer “If you’re looking for a stellar story experience, South of the Circle has it in spades.” - Shacknews

  • More of a movie than a game, worth the money imo

If you’re looking for an action game then this won’t be for you. While it may feel a bit boring and frustrating at times not being able to control the main character (Peter), this is one of the best stories to a game I’ve ever played. It’s short and only took about 2-3 hours to finish so it’s perfect if you don’t have a lot of free time on your hands. I’d highly recommend this to anyone for its theme, artwork and plot. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD PROCEED WITH CAUTION: All I wanted to add here was that the story does have a sad ending so just be aware that none of the actions you choose in the game really have an impact on the story. If you need further explanation on this there’s a good Reddit post that explains the meaning of the story pretty well

Love the game, except it keeps telling me it doesn’t support my handheld controller though on the purchase page it says it does.
  • Very Bad - Not a Game

This is a not-very-good animated movie which a “player” is supposed to click on the screen to advance the story. Dull and unbelievable; 4 hours and 4 dollars wasted. If these developers want to make a movie, then they should try that, but this is no movie AND no game. Voice acting is quite good, but the characters and plot will leave you cold- pun intended.
  • An Excellent Game!

The plot of reality and memories, the narrative that is not forced to inculcate values, shocking music, and the perfect game
