Description

Backgammon is a classic board game popular with many players around the world. Whether you are a beginner or expert player, this game may help to exercise your mind or relax after a long day at work. Enjoy classic gameplay right on your device, train your brain and have fun! How to play Backgammon: - Classic Backgammon is a logic puzzle for two, played on a board of 24 triangles called points. - Each player sits on the opposite sides of the board with 15 checkers, black or white. - To start the game, players take turns and roll the dice. - Players move pieces based on the numbers rolled. For example, if you roll 2 and 5, you can move one piece 2 points and another one 5 points. Alternatively, you can move one piece 7 points. - Once all of a player’s pieces are in his or her “home”, that player may begin removing pieces off of the board. - A player wins once all of their pieces are removed from the board. A few more things to know: - Rolling two of the same number allows you to move 4 times. For example, for a roll of 4 and 4, you can move a total of 16 points, although each piece must move 4 points at a time. - You cannot move a piece to a point that is occupied by 2 or more of your opponent’s pieces - If you move a piece to a point with only 1 of your opponent’s pieces on it, the rival’s piece is removed from the board and placed on the middle partition. Simple and intuitive design lets you focus on the gameplay and master your skills. Start your first round, challenge yourself and keep your brain active!

Very ad heavy. In the developers haste to get another dime in revenue they allow adds that disable the game and cannot be removed without rebooting the device.

I am not an expert by any stretch but I am not new either. This game is ridiculous! Pros: 1) The ads are NOT bad, they are fast and interactive so I don't mind them and everyone has to get paid. 2) If you go into it KNOWING you are going to lose, its a decent past time. That's all I got for the pros. Cons: Scenario 1: 1) When you lead the board the game will start making valid moves invalid and will force you to leave a single chip exposed. 2) Your opponent will then stick you on the bar 3) You will go NO LESS than 4 rolls with "No Move" 4) You will then fall 30 moves behind and lose. Scenario 2: 1) When you FINALLY make it off the bar you will then find the chip stuck in "Home" will not be able to move ANYWHERE ON THE BOARD until AFTER the opponent has doubled up ALL chips to eliminate YOUR OPPORTUNITY to move them to the bar. Scenario 3: IF you are lucky enough to make without encountering scenario 1 or 2 AND stay ahead, then you find that every other roll your opponent gets either double 5's or double 6's while you are stuck rolling 3, 5, or 4 thus making it IMPOSSIBLE to win. If the above only happened every so often I would get it, I love being challenged. But out of the hundreds of games I have played I have only won 2 matches (first to 3).

Play is normally smooth and just like you’d expect, but when you get too far ahead on games or moves, miraculously your open comes up with multiple runs of doubles. Also, invariably when ever I was forced to leave an open stone next to my opponent, he would always roll a one.

Bots mostly. At the end of the game and you’re off the board the your rolls are consistently low numbers. Happens way too often.

  • The “opponent” 🎲🎲

The opponent rolls an inordinate amount of doubles. Its allegedly random but at least 75% of the doubles rolled are rolled by the opponent. 👎🏼👎🏼

I had fun with this game at first. The dice rolls seemed to be fair. But the challenges are a different story. No matter what move I make, the AI has a planned solution to back me into a corner. I’ve played some levels more than 7 times before the game decides it’s ok for me to win the level. Just about every challenge has the board set up so that I’m at a serious disadvantage, and then, surprise surprise, my dice rolls leave me exposed while the AI rolls let him cover every time. The dice combo to knock my checker out, lo and behold, are perfectly rolled every time. And then, my rolls of course are blocked so I can’t get back in; once the AI checkers are all covered, I get the roll I need. Until the game decides to let me win, and then the AI does really stupid stuff that a real player would never do. The only good thing about this game is it’s free. I paid the little bit to remove the ads. I wish I didn’t. The game is too rigged to be fun.
  • Double what?

I have played quite a bit and find that the “opponent” receives a disproportionate amount of doubles compared to the live player, especially if the end is a close race. Takes the fun out of it.
