It offers support for budgeting, and allows analysis of your expenses and income, including charts and graphs. Two key differentiating features of HomeBudget are: 1. Integrated set of features. The features within HomeBudget are well integrated such that a bill can become an expense (when you pay for it) and also adjust the account balance at the same time. 2. Family sync. HomeBudget includes Family Sync, an advanced feature that allows a group of devices/computers (Mac, iPhone, iPad, iTouch) within the household to exchange expense and income information, and work together within a single budget. Once setup, the devices/computers sync with each other automatically over the air. Family Sync works across all features including Bills and Accounts. Please refer to the Family Sync Quick Start guide at http://www.anishu.com for information on configuring Family Sync. • I really like this app, but....

I really do like the design of this app. It's fairly straight forward to set up and fairly easy to import in transactions from your bank with a little tweaking in excel. It's a good app if you're only tracking expenses from a single account. I would DEFINITELY recommend it. However - it's got a pretty major flaw if you're tracking flow between Checking and Credit Accounts. In order to track all of your accounts, you have to consider paying on a Credit Account as a transfer out of your checking Account to the Credit Account. Because of this, it removes the Payee as an expense and makes it a transfer. If you want to see your payment to a credit account under your expenses, you would have to double-dip, doing the transfer out from checking to credit account and then also put it in as an expense.

I have been using this app on Mac and Ipad for at least 8 years when I switched from Quicken. It offers a simple and flexibe approach for managing a household budget. Never had any issues with performance. Sync works as advertized. I have always recieved prompt support and answers to my questions. Retired systems analyst.

I have been using this app on the mac for several years, it is exactly what I want to manage my finances. Just found the mobile app with sync and am ecstatic to be able to make entries while away from the computer.

Love love love this app! I need to manually enter transations in order to keep track of my money. I chose this app based on a recommendation and I have been very happy with it. I've been using it since July 17. I had an issue with changing dates on recurring bills and messaged them about it and they fixed it right away. I love that my financial picture is all in one place but I don't have to include all my accounts to make it work. Thanks for making a great product that is helping to make me financially healthy.
  • does not save time

I love how it’s all layed out and everything, BUT one issue that’s a deal breaker. I cant synch it to any accounts. So I have go enter all items from my account, my husbands and cards or payments. In short it’s like pencil and paper just tying it. does not save time and if you miss enter anything it could be a issue later. If this program could synch to all accounts it would be perfect. I should have reserched this more before wasting $20.
  • Important bugs are not fixed

The app is OK, but it has some major bugs for those of use who manage expenses and incomes in multiple currencies. 1. Whenever you import expenses and transactions in a certain currency, the app will not perform the right conversion to the main currency of the system. I have had to open the app’s SQLite database and run UPDATE queries myself to get this fixed without having to go on each expense one by one. Appart from that, the other limitation is that the budget is always just for the current month, you cannot store historical information about your budget nor explore how you performed budget-wise in past moths

This is really a 5 star program. I will deduct one star for an apparent “glitch.” I love, love, love this program. It has everything I need. I am having trouble with a few of the options, but that might be more not taking the time to figure it out. However, the whole purpose of my purchase was to see all my bills, so I don’t forget and know what is coming up. I love the calandar view and can see in colors if you are late, paid or in the future. Also I can view the details and sort by unpaid and go through my bills that are due. i pay my bills 2x a month, each pay day. Also I can easily see which ones are autopay and I leave alone. The bonus feature, I have all the info on my phone too— I love this sync feature. This program is amazing. I did deduct one star because of the bills that are due on the last days of the month. In March, all my bills were screwed up because we only had 28 days in Feb. I have a bill that is due on the 30th and the 31st. So it would seem obvious the bills would be due on the 28th of that month. However, it move over to the next month and every recurring month after that. I had to delete the recuuring bills with my “actual" dates to correct. However, just had the same issue. My bill that is due June 31st, moved over to my July bills. I just had to go and change to the 30th so I don’t have this issue, until Feb of next year. Then will have to go back and fix everything, unless developers can get this corrected. — I have a few other issues, but they are really minor and not worth the time typing or reading. For me, this is such a great program and has had me on track and not miss any of my bills. So now have a system and can easily pay all my bills at once sitting and it is so great.

I’ve used this app for several years now and absolutely love it! I use it probably a little different than intended as I follow Dave Ramsey’s envelope system. So I have accounts set-up for each expense (envelope) category. This is a great option to go digital with the envelope system. I highly recommend it!
  • Not importing data

I had this App in my Ipad for a couple years. I works nice and simple but I had the problem of having to input the expenses by hand. Now I dowloaded the new desktop version, precicelly for the download capabilities and it does not work. I can’t import the data either by downloading it from my account or by importing a cvs file. The import feature simply does not work. If you are looking for a budget planner with import capabilities simply look elsewhere.

This app is one of a few that can duplicate my financial spreadsheet without being overly complicated and costly. My requirement is to know what bills are due and when each month, total expenses and total income month to month. The app is very flexible when adding recurring, one time and periodic payments. In a very short time I entered the content of my spreadsheet and could see my monthly expenses total month by month and my discretionary income. The app has some graphical tools to see where your money is going and tools for budgeting purposes. The interface needs a little rearranging but is not a show stopper. Needs more options for printing. Overall a very nice app and does what I want it to.
