  • Duo’s ruining EVEN MORE with updates

UPDATE: what’s happening with stories?? i like to do the same ones over and over because it allows me to understand conversation structure and helps me memorize phrases and now when I do a story, it replaces that story with a new story. I need to be able to redo stories! It helps me learn! What’s going on duolingo? I loved the older version where there were some really cool games you could play! My favorite was a game that was like a scenario-type game where you typed a conversation with a bot character (like a chef, or a salesperson etc). I loved this because it actually pushed me to learn how to carry conversations in different languages and it was WAY easier to follow than these weird “practice a scenario” duo has now. It’s barely helpful as the questions they ask don’t even use words that I’ve even learned yet so I can never understand and it’s just NOT helpful at all. I don’t know why the good and immersive games were taken away but I’m not at all happy with what has replaced them and frankly, I just want the old games back so I can ACTUALLY LEARN! Please listen to this Duolingo! I love the app but I just can’t learn with all of these updates that just make everything worse :( update: i’ve just noticed that you now need to use gems in order to level up to to 6 crowns on a topic. this isn’t fair! how am i supposed to max out my skills if it costs gems? it used to be free! update part 2: this new update is the ugliest thing i’ve ever seen. it’s so unorganized and takes up way too much space on my screen. bring back the old layout!! it’s so ugly!!!

Hello people and Duolingo! 🦉 This app is nice overall, but there is a few problems. So I don’t have a subscription and I am studying the Korean course. If you don’t have a subscription and you make a mistake, you lose a heart. Yesterday I studied and I lost all my hearts. It refreshes your hearts every four hours. So I go to sleep and wake up the next day to study. Like it should be, the hearts are full. I do a lesson, then I make only one mistake. I get 96% on the lesson. Then, when I start another lesson, it says you need to restock your hearts. I check my hearts. For some reason, they are at zero. Is this a malfunction? Please respond if you can editors because I think this is a mistake.

It great and I love it, but please REMOVE HEARTS!! Learn a new language you’re going to mess up A LOT. Let say you’re about to finish a lesson and you mess up but that was your last heart. Then you have to restart ALL OVER AGAIN🫠. But an amazing app.

Duolingo is amazing but I wish they had more languages for people to learn. For example Albania. I was looking forward to learning Albanian but could never find the right app and Duolingo disappointed me by not having more languages. However this app is still great for other languages and would recommend.
  • People cheating in tournaments

Why people cannot play fearly and honest? DUOLINGO DO SOMETHING WITH PLENTY OF ISSUES THAT NEEDS ATTENTION ASAP. It’s completely UNFAIR for us that like to play fairly and honest and we always have people that doesn’t now how to accept they are loosing and go and cheat just to get the first place using a darn apps to cheat that is unfair for is that most of the time sit down to do the tournaments day by day try to win at least second/third places because when you get the first place cheaters like LK JEDAN he/she gets 10,000+ XP’s in less than a minute how he/she do that if even me playing with my group we cannot that many XP’s playing at the same time in less than a minute. Please check for this issues is NOT the first time I file a complain for same reasons

I feel like it is necessary to add Sign Language to Duolingo. It would be so cool to learn every type of sign language.
  • Solid but needs work

I find this app is not designed for someone with Spanish experience. The prompts are so simple and repetitive at times that it feels like they are limiting my knowledge intake to force me to keep coming back and continue using the app. The section I’m on is so simple I haven’t made a single mistake. Yet when I take the next section test, by the end of it the questions are so hard I don’t get a single one right. There’s no in between and I’m stuck doing what feels more like a dumb app game than actually learning a language.
