  • Not liking this app - Controls are Backwards!

Arrow keys are backwards which is driving me nuts. Slow. Controls are nowhere nearby unlike other apps like Comickazee. Only reason I keeping this so far is so I can read comics that Comickaze can't. There are better apps out there.

The app doesn't give you a continuous scroll option not worth your money.
  • Constantly Crashes

Worked for a bit, but now everytime I try to open it, it crashes right away. Piece of garbage. Don't waste your time with this.
  • This app suffers from a lack of developer attention

has some rough edges that need smoothed and some missing features. Never would have bought this if I'd noticed it has been neglected by the developer for 4 years.

I've used a lot of readers, and if you are reading a few chapters in a row, you want your reader to go to the *next* chapter right? Press next, and go to the next alphanumeric file no? This has nothing like that. On top of that, nothing is sized correctly. I have to re-stretch out the viewing window for every chapter. Total waste of money. Do not get. Simple Comic is older and does a better job in my opinion.

This is a great app although the swipe feature can be a little diffcult. You need to swipe it just right. Also, the app needs updating. Last refresh was over two years ago.
  • Is it possible to add some basic features?

    1. Remember last window size and position. 2. Left mouse click to forward a page, right click to backward.
  • pricy / not many features

Poor multitouch. Scrolling ‘catches’ for a second and rotating is very prone to lag. Brand new 13” Macbook Pro 2017. Smoother then SimpleComic, but not by much and certainly not worth the price lacking basic features.

DrawnStrips Reader is the best comic/manga reader for Mac that I know of at the moment. I mainly read manga (American comics have kinda been going downhill lately -_-) and this app is PERFECT for it. It supports dual page reading (looks great on the 15” Retina display) and the default page movement is right to left, so I didn’t have to change any settings at all. It gets the job done and has a very polished, minimalistic feel to it. I would highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a good comic/manga reader, it is well worth the 4 bucks.
