PhotoArtista - Oil

Apple took my money, but the app will NOT install. I have been trying for two days!! And it is impossible to get support from Apple. I have emailed PhotoArtista and have not received a reply. VERY disappointing. It is nearly impossible to contact Apple for a return. I am really getting over the shiny Apple. The Apple is spoiled at the core I am afraid.

this product produces some very interesting looking images from your photographs. I would like to see the pixel shadows halo around images be reduced to zero and also see the stroke variations provide better patterns of stokes. I don’t see this changing the stokes very noticeably.

This oil painting program is just the best! The looks are just marvelous! I highly recommend it! BUY! It makes it look like your photo started as a painting taken out of a museum. You'll be happy with the WONDERFUL paintings you will get with this of nature, people, pets and etc! Recommend!!

I've tried so many photo-to-painting applications and I believe this is one of the best! It's easy to use but it allows you to be flexible and creative. The speed is great! Some photo painting software take forever to apply the effect, but this is near instantaneous. I really love all the variations that come with this app. Well worth it!

If you're looking for a fast easy way to give a distinctive look to some of your photos, and the look that you want is a "oil painting" look, this is a great app for you. Mind you, all of JixiPix's software fall into the one trick pony category in that they all have a certain style in which they modify your photos and that's it (albeit a different style for each app). That's not to say that there isn't a ton of easily accessible user variation in what can be done in each app, but the variation is all confined within the parameters of whatever style that particular app is geared towards. Fortunately the makers of this software have maintained a similar interface across the board so it's easy to go from one app to the next. I've had several of their apps for around 9 months and while I don't use them on the majority of my photos, they're all definitely in the "Special FX" category not everyday enhancements, I have been extremely happy with the results when I have used them. I do have to say that to date I have had a little less success with getting a good image with this one, but I have gotten some good results too. I think that may be due more to the fact that the oil painting thing is a lot more dependant on having a particular type of photo for good results than any faults of the app.

I really liked the effects in this app. It really makes a regular, boring photo look interesting! I recently used it as the cover to a book I wrote. The regular picture looked, well.. regular. Now it looks like somebody did an oil painting for the cover of my book! I was very happy with the results. This company made a few other apps that I purchased, and I like them as well, I believe that one of them was "Romantic Photo", and I just noticed dramatic black as I'm writing this, I may need to check that one out as well! Again, such a cool way to get a unique, expensive look to your average joe/jane photos for websites, cover art, cards, or whatever you'd need art/photography for! Love it, and recommend it for ease of use and cool end results!

I have enjoyed this app and I am hoping the developer will fix the saving problem, which is, everytime I SAVE AS the picture under JPG format the result of saving is always under PNG format. Please please help to fix this problem. Thank you!

This app could easily be done by any number of tools built into photo editors, $10 dollars can buy you so much in the app/software world- don't waste on an only moderately cool feature.

Fantastic app. Not one bad image yet.

This one works very well and is a down and dirty way to achieve some very nice effects.
