  • One Annoying Issue

This app could easily be five stars. I have used and loved this app for years, but have consistently experienced one annoying issue- it will not save my changes the first time I make them. Any changes I make have to be done twice.

I’ve been using this app for years. Just lately, when I change my password and edit the entry in DataVault, the changes are not saved. It takes several attempts to get the database to save the edits. Looking for something new…
  • Cannot save

The application doesn’t save data from time to time. You have to make the application reliable to keep your reputation up. How can you have buggy app and expect other people to trust your other product
  • Easy to use

I’ve tried several so-called “top rated” password Managers and there’s none as easy to use as DataVault. I have over 200 passwords saved without a flaw! Highly recommend this!
  • UPDATE: IS THE DEVELOPER STILL THERE?? No updates for THREE YEARS?

UPDATE: NO UPDATES FOR THREE YEARS, AND NO DEVELOPER RESPONSES IN THESE REVIEWS ANYMORE, EITHER (Liam had been a consistent responder to any useful reviews, but now nothing) After more than a decade with DV, I fear I will need to migrate to another solution. With advancements in security (Passkey, physical security keys) I need my password manager to keep up. The app still works since the last update three years ago - my review below still stands for this excellent PW manager. But if the developer is effectively abandoning the app, I can’t continue to use it not knowing when an OS update will break it. I rely heavily on DV and I really can’t risk losing access to hundreds of PWs and logins, not to mention other sensitive info. My original five star review: FIRST: GET A PASSWORD MANAGER. period. Then USE IT, for ALL your passwords. Make it your habit. Then use it to make longer, more secure passwords, and change them easily. Truly, it is a worthwhile investment, and loads better than a ratty notebook in the drawer by your keyboard. [End PSA rant] I recommend DataVault, as I’ve used it for years, and it has never disappointed me. DataVault has stood the test of time, a rarity in the iOS universe. It’s remained relevant and become more powerful and easier to use, without bloating into something it aughtn’t be in the first place. The desktop-iOS integration is seamless, and iCloud sync works flawlessly across my devices. If I remember correctly, DataVault was a month or two behind 1Password to introduce Touch ID (which saves loads of time), but when they update, it works… period. In fact, in all the years I’ve used DV, no update has ever been unstable or flaky–also a rarity for iOS apps. This developer takes both our security and our trust seriously. UPDATE: As nearly all the other names in the password manager field move to a subscription model (WHICH I HATE, IN ALL INSTANCES!), Ascendo has kept DataVault as a standalone app on all platforms, with all features enabled. If at some point they do a major paid upgrade, I will gladly pay it to simply own apps outright that work as beautifully as Datavault always has. Thank you for not gouging your customers like so many others.

I rarely post reviews, but this one is easy. DataVault is the only storage app I use for passwords, personal business notes, and sensitive information. I have used it for years, and it has been spectacular. I think it can’t be beat.

I have been using this app for several years to store passwords and it is fantastic. Easy to use, you can unlock with face or fingerprint recognition, and it will even generate new passwords for you. I also use Apple keychain, but that doesn’t always lend itself to all occasions, and sometimes it is nice to have a backup as well.

Can't sync iPad with iPhone. Both have up to date iOS. ICloud is on with both devices and other software sync works.
