Description

The world's first drone Remote ID scanner made by Dronetag. _____ READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING! Limited access to features on some phones is caused by manufacturers’ restrictions. All iOS phones, for example, prohibit app access to Wi-Fi, so only Bluetooth data transmission will work (if and only the drone has an active Remote ID over Bluetooth). It is not a flaw of our app; we cannot fix this, and we don’t deserve negative reviews for these issues. _____ Transform your phone or tablet into a drone scanner and track all the nearby flights over Direct / Broadcast Remote ID standards. Browse real-time data about drones on a detailed map highlighting specific flying space zones. Download Drone Scanner for free and discover what drones fly above your head. Favourite features: - Discover more about drones flying nearby in real-time - Examine detailed information broadcasted by drones via Bluetooth 4, Bluetooth 5, Wi-Fi Beacon, and Wi-Fi NAN - Browse a detailed map with your location and all nearby aircraft - Check available data about drones, including real-time height, direction, pilot identification, pilot position, operation description, and location history - Various flying zones marked and highlighted on the map - Easy export of collected data - Continuously updated to reflect the latest EU & US regulations All these features you find in Drone Scanner – a free app for tracking drones. The app is developed by Dronetag, manufacturing devices for remote drone identification. How it works: Anyone can quickly identify what drones are flying in the sky nearby. Direct Remote ID is a feature that transmits live flight data via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to the surrounding area. Drone manufacturers use various technologies to build an identification feature in new drones. Older drone pilots use add-on devices, enabling them to become digitally visible. With hardware on your smartphone, Drone Scanner can receive and read broadcasted data.

  • Not on iOs

Unless you are within bluetooth range. And that would mean it is sitting on the ground next to me. Limit is spelled out AFTER you download and use it. Then they tell you it doesnt work on iOs. Useless to even try porting it to something the dev knows full well wont work.
  • Early Remote ID restrictions make room for unethical apps.

Developer is taking advantage of the unpolished functionality of the new remote ID laws. With this app, anyone in the general public can know your location and come down to harass you. Remote ID compliance is very new, and having it broadcast way more data than what’s necessary is unethical. Ideally, developers would wait until the law is sorted so that Remote ID only displays the serial of a drone and its flight path, and give local police and the FAA the sole authority to triangulate the serial number + controller location of a drone to locate the pilot if laws are being broken. The fact that some reviewers say it can give up a phone’s MAC address and location is outrageous. As of right now, anyone can use the app and track you down, even if you are flying FAA compliant. Devs - please don’t bother responding with your copy/paste responses. I’ve already read the plethora of 1 star reviews with the automated responses.

I’ve tried everything and have yet to get this to App work with any of my DJI drones and iPhone 12 Pro Max. I’m trying to verify Remote ID functionality on all my drones but this App seems to be “dead in the water” with iPhones. I have Bluetooth enabled but still nothing. It obviously doesn’t work with the WIFI version on my phone. Very disappointing. With Remote ID enforcement starting tomorrow, we need a tool that works! Just Sayin
  • No DJI

This app will not pick up any DJI drones because they all transmit on Wi-Fi so if they make this app pick up Wi-Fi it will work, they keep saying no, but it will work if you make it pick up Wi-Fi
  • Drone Scanner app won’t recognize that location is turned on.

I’ve loaded Drone Scanner on one of my iPads, but when I open it, it stays stuck over Prague. The fault message says location must be turned on. It is. On my other iPad the app finds my location immediately. I’ve loaded the app on my Android phone and it goes immediately to my location. It works fine. The only problem is it will not put a shortcut icon on my screen and can only be opened from Play Store or the phone’s app list. What’s up? I give the app five stars for working on my Android phone. I’ll wait to rate its performance on my iPad if it the problem gets fixed.
  • Limited Function on IOS

This app has no wifi functionality on an Apple device. Apple makes up 60% of the cell phone market in the U.S. and 29% globally. They should not market features of their app that don’t work for that size of their market without saying so.
  • Might need to use Android to get what you want

It seems that at the time I am writing this the app does not fully function on iOS due to post limitations with BT and WiFi specs needed I’m trying to set up my Remote ID it tells me many fields are wrong but it cycles through the displayed data so quickly it is hard to capture what it is displaying. I am hopeful that in 2024 these issues will be eliminated. At least it sees my Remote ID unit, while the app from the Remote ID maker does not.
  • Meters only?

Seems to work ok. Using the Spektrum RID module. Can you please add the ability to change units from metric to imperial? Yes, I know we should all be on the metric system, but we’re not there yet.
  • It’s ok

I would give this a 5 star rating if you could change the distance from meters to feet.
