I’ve been playing Fitscape now for 3 weeks. There is not a lot of instruction on how to track the distance you walk, there was a lot of trial and error on my end to figure this out, and there is not a lot of instruction on how to do anything. The first few quests have a bit of instruction, but not enough. To move to another screen in the game, you have to physically move 500 meters. The app doesn’t track your steps/distance in real time, it syncs with with the Heath app. It will track your steps while carrying your phone in your pocket, or from your Watch. The only way to level up your character and attributes is by doing a workout on your Watch, or other compatible fitness devices. Pro tip, if you select the functional strength training workout on your Watch, it will level 5 of your 6 attributes. I have not yet figured out how to level the charisma attribute. There is one quest early in the game where you have to make a friend. This is an MMORPG, but after 3 weeks I have yet to see another player online. I asked my wife to download the game and create a character just so I could complete the friend quest. My wife uses a Fitbit, which doesn’t connect to the Health app. We tried a work around, which connected the Fitbit to Health, but it didn’t transfer to the game to level her player and attributes, so basically, nobody plays this game, you’re alone in there world, and if you don’t have an Watch, good luck. This game is a fantastic concept, I am a sucker for MMORPG’s, I don’t typically participate in intentional physical activity, but I started working out regularly just to level my character, but it’s a slow go. Like all MMORPG’s, each level takes longer to level than the last. The problem is that there aren’t enough quests. From level 3, your next quest you have to be level 5, and from there you have to be level 8, I am currently level 7 (after 3 weeks of working out 20 minutes a day) working to get to 8 to compete the next quest. Basically, I complete a quest, then have to workout everyday for a week to play the game again, so that’s really lame, I have used my time to travel and discover the world which only contains 16 different screens, it’s not very big . In conclusion, it’s a good concept, but it needs a lot more content, and it would be more fun if others actually played.

My character got stuck in a battle and could not do anything but sit there. I wanted to be able to battle friends but can’t. And waiting over 16 hours for help from the support team team and it never came so I uninstalled. I’ll try again later when they get the bugs worked out
  • Needs some more work

Opened the app, put in a username and agreed to log in with Apple. Now, when I try to log in,I get the checkmark in the pop-up showing I've logged in, but it stays on the screen that asks me how I want to log in. Disappointing, because I really wanted to try this. App support just sent me to a website with FAQ.

This game is very fun and motivating. Once you get your apps setup for the game to receive the data it runs smooth. Some of the battles freeze up and I wish there was a way to sync Fitbit or other devices for steps and running data but otherwise the game is great.
  • Has potential, but…

I like the idea of the game, but the UI is really rough. More importantly, the game screen doesn’t fit properly in my iPhone 13 Pro. So much on the edges is cut off! It makes actually playing the game difficult. I’ll revisit the game in a few months to see if things have improved.
  • Great potential for a beta launch!

To give a bit of backstory before this review, I'm a gamer that used to go to the gym. After performing the same workouts, and listening to the same music, I found it to be boring, slow and demotivating. Fitscape has brought a new flame to my fitness journey! I recently got my sister to join in on the game with me, and she loves it, she's actually a higher level than me! Okay, let's dive into the first-impression gameplay. From first opening the app, accepting my first quest and going into my first battle, the music is still the same calm, peaceful roaming music even in battle. When a battle starts it should be intimidating, and the music should follow. Fitscape's battle mechanics requires you to swipe to attack, which at first seemed like a great idea, however, with only about a third of my swipes registering, I suggest a tap to attack feature is integrated. Another thing is more vibrant strikes, monster noises, victory music, flashy colors, all the beautiful things a gamer like myself would want to see. Also, Multiplayer quests! (Co-op, Online) Maybe I'm getting ahead a bit, it's still soon. (Dev(s), if you're reading this and have already considered some of these ideas, thank you. You're doing great!) Now, to see great results in this game, YOU WILL NEED AN APPLE WATCH OR FITNESS BAND to track your progression precisely. I'm still Level 1 myself without an Apple Watch, (currently in the process of moving) and my sister (Who does have an Apple Watch) is at Level 3. Lack of a fitness band will definitely break the immersion of the game, as it is tedious to do workouts with your phone in your hand, or on your person all the time. For a game that incorporates fitness into gaming, and is very much in its early stages, I can see this game being something amazing!

It says it counsel your progress and you see results right away but It is the fourth day of playing this game and I am still level one . I have worked out numerous times and I assume the workout experience is only unlock after the starter quest tree which I am still not finished after four days of workouts. none of my workouts besides steps taken have been counted towards my progress. All this game does is ask you for money which I’d happily give if I’ve actually gotten to experience the product advertised. But I haven’t so I don’t recommend it.
