  • No songs

The song selection is all over the place. They have a bunch of random songs like movie or game soundtracks, and not popular one. They don’t even have artist’s most popular songs. They don’t even have any blink-182 song!! It would be one this if this was free, but don’t forget you have to PAY a subscription for this (20 bucks a month too!!) You are way better off picking up the old console game and learning from that, at least that’s a flat 60 bucks up front and that’s it (unless you want more songs, then it’s 2 bucks a song) OR go on YouTube.

When I first downloaded it, a problem occurred. It wouldn’t even let me in. It says Sorry the store is currently unavailable please try again, every time.
  • Good thing there’s a free trial

Over $100 a year to subscribe and constantly bombarded with network errors that force restart the app, losing any progress made in your current session. I have fiber 1GBPS and have literally zero issues with any other app, game, streaming, etc. Very limited music selection, and dozens of songs just outright not including arrangements for certain parts of songs (solos, bridges, etc.) It did improve on at least one thing, however. The visual/audio lag is leagues better when compared to Rocksmith 2014 when playing on a modern 4K+ smart tv. I’m a self taught guitarist for going on 10+ years. I’ve always liked Rocksmith because it’s a fun, interactive way for new players to pick up guitar. The idea for the app is good, it’s just not where it needs to be quite yet.

Right from the very start, there is no sound coming from the app from the opening video screen, I continue with the setup set up in hopes that it was just that video. but after the set up was complete, and connected to my keyboard via cable input everything registered as it should, but still no sound during gameplay I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. that still hasn’t done anything except waste my time. very disappointment. and in case you are wondering, my volume was up at 79% at the time.
  • Really enjoying this for playing bass

Been using this a while and enjoying it overall. Lots of songs across a lot of genres for bass and new ones added pretty regularly. Songs seem accurate and sound good. I definitely improved my playing. A couple of requests if anyone reads these: 1) please add a way to sort the favorite song list for tunings and genres. My list is getting long and things are starting to get hard to find. 2) I use the tab view to play and it would be nice if I could see the lyrics like you can in just the standard view. Thanks and keep up the great work!
  • Expensive!

They recently increased the subscription price. So I was curious about what was added to justify that. I signed up for the 1 year plan because it advertised a 7 day trial. I was charged immediately even though the name of the charge was “12 months + 7 day trial.” I requested a refund but decided to try it before they revoked my access. This game is not worth the price. It could possibly be, if it had a library comparable to an average music streaming service. $139/year or $19.99/month is insane for one game. I’m just going to stick to Rocksmith 2014 for now.
  • Frustrating

I have been an avid fan of the rocksmith releases and have been playing them forever. Overall I have loved the concept and the delivery on consoles but I find the iOS app to be incredibly frustrating. For starters, after almost every song the app locks up and I have to close and reload. So progress isn’t saved at all. The song library is quite limited but I can see they are trying to grow it out which is appreciated but it is not enough. I use one of the Rocksmith cables so sound quality and the notes are recognized fairly well, but could definitely be improved. It seems any kind of fret buzz makes your notes or chords unrecognizable. I paid for the year and so will continue to mess with it but overall I recommend sticking to the previous Rocksmith releases and let the app fix these bugs first.
  • Fun but keeps crashing

Fun, with a variety of songs. The noteway is still to small even with the update on my iPad, but it’s better. Recently I’ve been getting error messages that the server isn’t ready and restarts the app. I’ve been getting something called a drum error also.
