Description

This app uses the front-facing infrared camera and the rear LIDAR based camera to be able to see in the dark. This app requires a device that has Face ID in order to work. In order to use the LIDAR feature, the device must have the LIDAR hardware. This app requires an iOS device with FaceID, such as the iPhone 14, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max, 14 Plus, 13, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max, 13 mini, 12, 12 Pro, 12 mini, 11, 11 Pro, XS, and X. SEE USING LIDAR On the iPhone 12 Pro and the 3rd and 4th generation iPad Pros with LIDAR, you can use the back facing LiDAR scanner to see in the dark. The app does not require any light to operate and can work in complete darkness. SEE WITH INFRARED TRUE DEPTH For compatible devices (devices with FaceID), the front-facing true depth camera is used to see in the dark. For both the LIDAR sensor and the true depth camera, the app uses creates a pseudo color image using the depth data from the sensors.

Got this running on a iPhone 12 Pro Max phone and the Lidar(back) does not work at all. Testing with Ir capability camera I find LIDAR (rear) button actually activates TrueDepth (front) sensor and does not even activate back camera. True depth (front) button does work as advertised. Real real good in-fact. Stereo camera(rear), not much. I does activate the rear LiDAR scanner but all I get is strobed flashes off camera at night. Has a problem activating rear camera reliably. So my rating of one 1star is all it gets because the only thing that works is true depth (front). Could be a fun very easy app if it just worked. Please fix it and I will reevaluate. For now I don’t recommend downloading this one.

It works as intended. With my 12Pro I can use the LiDAR sensor to see around me without light. But it could use some data filtering, at certain times it gets overwhelmingly glitchy and covers the viewfinder. But in most cases it works great. I use it in the Barracks to see at night without waking others with the light on.
