  • Keeps getting worse

    I love a lot of the stories on this app. But I hate the structure of the app itself. Unless you pay monthly for the app, you can read the most recent episodes. It always annoyed me when a season would come to an end and I’d have to wait months for more uploads before reading those final few episodes of the season. Same case when a story ends! Im blocked from finishing this story because I need to pay to read the last few episodes. Now, more recently, almost all of the series I have saved have become subscription based ONLY. So these stories that I’m invested in and have already read 100+ episodes of are suddenly no longer available for me to read. At this point I’d rather just go to a sketchy site to read these stories freely.

    How is it just that you advertise free comics and after a few months make it so I can only read them by paying? What’s the point of having this app and buying the comics when I can just find them any where else and they won’t make me pay for it. Ridiculous

    i have had this app for 3 years. i haven’t been on it for a month, i got on to find out that now you have to buy all the episodes?! like what that’s so stupid. it used to be you could read one episode every 24 hours which was great but to have to pay for every single episode no thank you!

    Amazing stories and I’ve loved many of them. However, as I’ve progressed through my current reads, they’ve started making the free ones only available to premium. I don’t have money to pay for that and they’re making almost ALL of the things I’m ready not free. It’s really annoying. AND since each free episode you have to wait 24 hours I can only read one per day. It doesn’t help me get done reading them before they aren’t free anymore.

    The selections are absolutely amazing! Has been my favorite app, until they started to add gems to read certain stories. I pay for the membership and you are wanting me to pay more for gems. It’s completely ridiculous. People who pay for the membership should get to view all of the products. Very disappointed in this decision.

    I loved this app when I first downloaded it. I loved it so much, that I even paid for a monthly subscription so I could read whatever I wanted. But lately they’ve changed things. On top of the monthly fee, you now need to purchase gems to read a lot of the comics. Each episode costs a certain number of gems. It’s obnoxious and honestly really disappointing. I’m already paying for unlimited access, but that doesn’t matter. Once the current comics I’m readying are finished, I’ll be uninstalling the app and looking for something else. It’s a shame because they have such great content and such a wide variety, but I’m not about to go broke just trying to read the things I like. I’ve noticed the developer commenting on other reviews about how “unlimited” means you can read anything. I will reiterate now that you CANNOT. Even with the unlimited subscription (which I have had for over a year), some comics and episodes still cost “gems” to read, which require you to purchase with actual currency.

    I love the series on this app. Having to wait the 24 hours between episodes can be annoying but I don’t really mind. What really bothers me and is ultimately what will lead to me deleting the app is that they revoke certain stories from having Free Passes. There have been several series I was fully invested in and many episodes or seasons into that now I cannot read without paying for it. If a series is given Free Passes don’t take them away from their readers.

  • Can’t cancel membership

    At some point this year, they switched from a membership for all-you-can-read to gems, like buying coins for any other app. They did not cancel membership plans which do not provide any benefit anymore (not even an amount of gems per month for subscription). There is no way to cancel this membership, and the “how do I cancel my membership?” button only leads you in circles. Still trying to cancel.

    Use to you paid to read all mangas on the app, if you didn’t pay you could only read parts of the mangas. Now half the mangas you have to pay by chapter (gems) to read which defeats the purpose of the original setup of payment. I plan on canceling my subscription because it makes no sense to only be able to read parts of what they post when realistically I could read it all free somewhere else. $5 wasn’t that much to read everything but to have to pay $5 + $god.knows.how.much to read stuff is stupid. They should have just kept it the way before or done ads to cover the difference. I’m done with this app I deleted my old review and the new one will be this 1 star because that’s all it deserves now, it doesn’t even deserve that.

    Love a lot of the series on this app but they’re changing everything to subscription only. At least WEBTOON allows you to watch an ad if you don’t want to pay. Real shame they got greedy. No wonder piracy is such a problem.
