Description

Do you work smart, not hard? Well that's great, but your boss and team mates might be forming opinions based on whether you show up as active or available or online on your office's instant messaging tools like Slack, Skype, Microsoft Teams and more. Once you stay idle for some time, these messaging tools display your status as away or idle or offline causing your co-workers to suspect you are not in front of your computer all the time. You know how big a problem this is if you WFH (work from home) regularly and can't constantly be in front of your computer. Slacker solves this by moving your mouse pointer for you whenever you are idle - the result is that you always show as active on any corporate/office instant messaging tools (like Slack or Microsoft Teams) running on your work computer. This additionally also means that your screen lock and screensaver will not be activated and your system will not go to sleep just because you step away from your computer while working from home or in the office.

  • Great app: read the instructions

Yes, the old version will crash your computer. That's because Apple won't let them update. Just go to the website and download version 2. Your license really does carry over. This works great. I have RingCentral: stupid app that not only won't register that I'm available after just a minute or two of inactivity, but even WHEN I'M WORKING ON SOMETHING. Company is getting a deal using it, but it's insane. If you go out of the RingCentral window, which we only use to communicate, and try to go to our company site to actually do some work, RingCentral thinks you're inactive after a couple minutes. The only way to get it to stop doing this is to let RingCentral have complete access to your computer, which I don't do with any app for privacy reasons. No one from RingCentral or any of these apps will ever read this, but if you want people to stop buying apps like Slacker, you have to make a product that works sanely.

There was a point in time where this app did work. But at least a couple of months ago the app just began crashing. Since it crashes frequently it can't really accomplish it's functionality.

This app crashes constantly and I have done everything I can to get it to work reliably, including blanking out "only activate if this app is running" per the note from the developer. This app needs a new version asap.
  • Crashes way too much

I am running a 2020 Macbook Pro on 11.5.2 (20G95) and this app crashes every 15 minutes. Any word on a fix for this?
  • Crashes every day!

Honestly - I could write a better app. Nice icon - crappy performance. Does *NOT* work with Teams. Doesn't even count. Crashes at least twice a day. What the developer should do is update the icon to put a "X" over the eyes, that would make the app at least mirror how badly it works. Avoid this app at all costs.
  • Crashes all the time

Works great when it works, but crashes all the time when you need it most
  • It doesn't work

Solely on the review that said it worked, I bought it. It doesn't work at all. Waste of time and money.
  • The Only One that Works

I've tried a few that I won't name. NONE of them worked at keeping Skype and MS Teams active. If you need this, stop searching. Buy this one. Thank you to the developer.
