Description

The essential Pantone Color iOS app for designers and color experts! Pantone Connect streamlines the color inspiration to design process, making it easy for you to measure and match physical materials to Pantone Color, share your inspirational color palettes to social media, and navigate any updated Pantone Color System to find the perfect hue while on the go. When paired with the Color Match Card from Pantone, the app calibrates your iOS device's camera for color measurement, and captured colors are quickly matched to their nearest Pantone Color more accurately than extracting color from a photo. Be sure to check that your iOS device is compatible with Color Match Card before you order one. While most device models are compatible, we are still in the process of adding some iOS devices to our list. The app is part of the new Pantone Connect digital color platform for mobile, web, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Extension), meaning colors discovered while on the go can be easily applied to design files when you're back in your studio. The following features will remain free for everyone on mobile and web: - All Pantone Colors, always up to date - sRGB and Hex values for all colors - Measurement with the Pantone Color Match Card - Color extraction from images - Palette+image sharing to social media - Color library search, navigation, sorting, and filtering - Pantone system cross referencing (X-Ref) - Trending color palettes from Pantone Premium features for mobile and tablet are also currently free to use, and will include: - CMYK and L*a*b* values for all colors - Convert to Pantone from sRGB, Hex, L*a*b*, and CMYK values - Saving more than 1 palettes and team palette collaboration - Nuance color to nearby hues - Color harmonies Accounts: Currently, Pantone Connect is completely free to use, including all Premium features, while we actively develop and improve this platform. Free accounts can be created in-app. Premium accounts can be activated on Pantone's website. Other Pantone App Compatibility: Pantone Connect accounts do not work with the Pantone Studio for iOS app or vice versa, and users who pay for Pantone Studio access will not receive access to Pantone Connect. • ‘Free’ would be expensive

Poorly implemented, often offline or hard to login to. Equivalent plug-ins for the Adobe apps are equally bad. On top of that, zero customer support via chat or phone. Email is an option, if you can wait a day or two for a reply. Zero competition generates poor quality.

It’s pretty terrible that a company would sell you a product that you now can’t use because they are either too lazy or don’t have the money to keep this app compatible with new devices.

Great job to Pantone for making us pay for something that was free. Additionally, they've also taken a wonderfully simple interface which has existed for years and turned it into a plugin that is so confusing and cumbersome that it's maddening. Not sure which is more cumbersome, the interface itself or the fact that it keeps logging me out so I have to log back in. I just want to scroll through the Pantone colors like I used to do. I want to see the PMS number of a color, pick it and use it. This is a classic example of when a company tries to add additional features to justify a ridiculous price. This is by far the worst interface I've seen in a long time.

Does not support iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro
  • App is basically a browser for a single website

Every time I open this app, first of all, it isn’t formatted for a Pro Max screen size, so it is a bit awkward. And then, when I try to do the Measure / Color Match Card, it acts like I’m in a normal browser telling me to “download the new Pantone Connect app to measure colors with your phone.” Ummm. You mean the app I’m currently reading this statement in?
  • DO NOT BUY! UI Change Broke The Color Match Card

Where there used to be a menu in the upper left hand corner, that allowed access to the Measure function, is now just a “Pantone Connect” logo. With the Measure function inaccessible or removed, the Color Match Card card is now useless. The QR code on the card just takes you to a page listing the apps features, with no instructions on how to use the Measure feature. Your YouTube video from 3 years ago shows a different UI than the current app. One from 2 years ago shows gluon to use the Measure feature, but not how to access it (Measure is already open at the start of the video. Your in-app help document describes how to use the feature, but not how to access it. Absolutely useless—Whoever wrote s responsible should be demoted or dismissed.

Nice to be able to find details about Pantone colors when not at my computer. Please update to support the color card on newer devices!
