Description

QVox is a creative audio effect that transforms vocals, guitars, drums, and synths into four independent voices. Create beautiful harmonies, widen instruments and design groovy rhythmic sequences with diatonic pitch shifting and delay. You can choose the key, scale, and each voice’s pitch and delay interval, with the ability to alter any parameters in real-time using the Ribbon controller. Features: - Four independent voices (labeled as A, B, C, D) with diatonic pitch shifting and delay. - Select Key and Scale to create harmonies that coincide with your compositions or use the Learn button to set the key by the incoming note you play. - Group the four delays so that they are evenly spaced or spread out. - Sync the delays to tempo, or a value of your own choosing. - The Ribbon controller allows for dynamic modification of several knobs at once to easily morph between settings. - Factory presets help get you started or create your own User presets. - Mixlock helps when auditioning different presets by enabling a global Mix value that will remain constant for every subsequently loaded preset. - Available as an Audio Units AUv3 plug-in and Standalone App.

  • Lacks manual features!

This could be an amazing app but lacks some ESSENTIAL features, otherwise is fun to play to the presets but once you need to fine tune parameters these are the most important features missing: 1: Diatonic chromatic scale mode!: If you want to set specific intervals and want them to remain CONSTANT Chromatically you CAN’T do that here, say you want a 4th and a 6th above your original note and keep the same intervals chromatically, the scale you choose will keep changing the intervals... This could be resolved if this app had an option to chose “cents” for pitch shift instead of just “musical intervals”, that way I could choose to have the same exact intervals regardless of the note... A classic example for this would be trying to replicate Steve Vai’s “Ballerina 12/24”, that patch is a simple 4th and 6th above with 180 and 360 ms delay respectively on each interval BUT if you set those settings here you CAN’T play the song as Vai’s song modulates all the time and doesn’t have a root note so you’ll end up with notes changing where the intervals should remain static... 2: Independent delay times for each pitched voice: CAN’T do that here 3: Pan control for each pitched voice: CAN’T do that either, voices are always panned hard left-right 4: Saving user presets has an error where you CAN’T re-save or overwrite your presets!: If you just fine tuned your preset and want to save it it’ll ask you to save into a a DIFFERENT slot and if you use the same name it’ll still save it into a new different slot adding automatically a number so you’ll soon end up with a LONG list of repeated presets as you CAN’T erase them either! Eventide developers: please at least reply and hopefully you can fix those bugs and improve on those simple things
  • Wow, low latency

I’m very impressed by the low latency processing of this effect. It’s akin to having a hardware pedal (using iPad Pro 10.5, hosting in AUM). With an audio interface, I can make a believable 12 string guitar sound (with 12 step octaves) that tracks with nearly no lag/delay, unlike some other harmonizer apps (which I also like/respect, but have more delay & stutter). Multi tonals (3rds, 5ths, 7ths) track in nearly real time as well. A really useful effect to add to your arsenal. Eventide really delivers with their iOS Auv3 effects.
