Description

Patterned is a unique puzzle game that immerses you in the beauty and joy of seamless, repeating patterns. Each pattern begins as a sketch and you must use visual clues to reassemble its scrambled pieces. Piece by piece, each pattern begins to come alive in increasing amounts of color and structure. When the final piece is placed, the pattern fills the screen in full color. Inspired by jigsaw puzzles, but with a unique twist… In Patterned, your objective is to rebuild a scrambled pattern tile that is seamlessly repeating across the screen. As you place pieces you’ll quickly discover that the puzzle’s edges are repeated on the other side. Use these visual clues to help solve each puzzle! Made for adults and kids alike… From flowers to watercolor paintings, or from dinosaurs to kung fu sushi, Patterned is full of fun designs made for absolutely everyone! Hidden animations… Hidden throughout numerous patterns are short animations that will play as the puzzle is solved. See if you can find them all! Wallpapers galore... With each pattern that you solve, you can download a beautiful wallpaper to your device! Available for iOS and macOS only. Take your time… Easily start a puzzle on a device and finish it later. Even begin on one device and continue on a different device! Beautiful music… Relax, zone out and play at your own pace as a peaceful music soundtrack accompanies gameplay. Inspired by design from around the world… Patterned is full of over 1500 beautiful, handcrafted patterns created by artists from around the world. More puzzles will be released regularly throughout the year!

I really enjoy playing the game but it's frustrating to move back and forth between mac and mobile as syncing only seems to work in one direction. (iPad progress never syncs back to mac.)

Good Evening: Wish the Arcade allowed half-stars as 4.5 seems most appropriate. Latest update hasn't presented any issues. Only regret--no new puzzles yet, as of 9/9/22.

I started playing this visually attractive, calming puzzle game at the end of 2020 and completed many puzzles. But the last update stopped that. On an iMac, the screen goes to black on launch. I can still play it on an iPad but prefer playing on a big screen. Any chance of a fix?
  • Lovely and Cathartic

I tried this game thinking it would be one of those virtual painting apps. It is better than I imagined. The activity of completing each puzzle is very calming. While not every style is to my taste, the artwork is nonetheless beautiful. I especially enjoy the reveals once I finish each puzzle. The music is lovely. More than a few times, I found myself so caught up in the combination of art and music that I was brought to tears. Stirs up many memories. It's a lovely piece of work. The only part I find difficult or problematic is scrolling. The scrolling can be so slow, that it can take quite a long while to scroll through through the large number of puzzles - which is also terrific that there are so many puzzles. Perhaps it would help to make a more obvious way for users to select a puzzle at random or to search for a particular artist? Lastly, I strongly suggest adding some sort of hint text to each button icon. The icons arent obvious enough for me to know what I will see once I click on them. So, it can be a bit annoying when I must find my way back. The majority of the experience puts you in such a lovely state of calm that it's unfortunate that something like unclear navigation really spoils the overall "zen" of the app. What's the old Steve Krug UX rule? Don't make me think!

Love this game on the iPad, so was happy to see it available here. Get a big black screen — nothing else. Please fix.

I want to turn off the sound but there are ZERO preferences!
  • Mac support

Patterned has been out for a year and Mac support is still poor. Two finger trackpad scrolling doesn't work and you can't save wallpapers. Also company doesn't reply to support emails. Disappointing.

I have two screens on my desktop and usually Patterned will open on my iMac screen. Today the app decided to go to my secondary screen. Tried to get to the preferences, but that is grayed out. Do you have a fix for this?

I really like this game a lot; it literally prompted me to try Apple Arcade. There's at least one puzzle that's missing a piece (Wish On a Star).
