Description

AURA is a SMART & STUNNING weather forecast app, specially made for DRONE & UAV flights. It’s super easy for BEGINNERS, and so powerful for ADVANCED pilot. • Hour-by-hour & day-by-day forecasts. FREE up to 5 days. • Well designed UI & UX. • Smart weather analysis. • Wind, satellites (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo), No-Fly Zones, government weather alerts, atmospheric pressure, solar activity (Kp), precipitation, visibility, etc. • Time Travel to anywhere in the future. • Active Weather Scanner. Let AURA work for you. • Guide & suggestions for various conditions. • Stunning Dark Mode. More than meets the eye. • Full iPad, Apple Watch, & Watch Complications support. • Color blindness support, esp. Achromatopsia & Daltonism. • The best of all: It’s FREE! Perfect for DJI Spark, Mavic, Phantom, Inspire, GoPro, Parrot Bebop, Anafi, Yuneec, Ryze, Syma, Eachine mini drones or whatever your drone is. It’s a must-have for all drone pilot. ●●● How Smart? ●●● AURA’s analysis & scoring systems are powered by Artificial Intelligence, that translates complicated weather-drone data into a score & friendly SIMPLE SENTENCES. ●●● All in One ●●● We take into account all weather & space elements that are important to drone flights (such as wind, satellites, No-Fly Zones, solar activity, etc.) and put them all together on a WELL DESIGNED INTERFACE. This makes it easier to view all the critical information in a single view, without having to navigate around to different pages. ●●● The Power to Time Travel ●●● AURA provides HOUR-BY-HOUR & day-by-day forecasts. So you can find not only the best day to fly, but the also best hour of the day. ANYWHERE on this planet. For now, AURA supports weather on EARTH only. ●●● Not Good to Fly?? ●●● Wait! We understand sometimes perfect weather is rare. But even if you can’t find one, maybe you shouldn’t cancel your flight yet, since AURA can give you guide & suggestions on how to fly in that not-so-good weather. What are the things to pay more attention to, what additional tools to use, how to control the drone in certain condition and so on. ●●● Dark Mode ●●● While the default Light Theme is meticulously designed in high-contrast for bright & sunny environment, the DARK THEME is more easy on the eyes. Both literally & idiomatically. It's perfect for night time flying or checking AURA indoors. Or use “Auto Theme” and watch as Aura changes theme automagically according to sunrise & sunset on your location. ●●● No-Fly Zone ●●● Someday you’re ready to fly on a new interesting location. But little did you know, there’s a small airport nearby. Flying a drone there would be considered a felony. Don’t let this happen, plan your flights by checking AURA in advance. Check wether a location is drone-restricted or how far is it from the restricted area. Currently there are 60k+ NFZs in our database! If you know an NFZ that's not included in AURA, just let us know. Our team will verify it. ●●● Apple Watch Support ●●● Bring AURA’s intelligence to your wrist & experience the finest weather-checking moments. ●●● It’s FREE! ●●● The free version provides forecasts for the next 5 days! Both HOURLY & DAILY. This won’t just be it. Cool features are coming your way! Give us some thoughts to aura [at] danielvw [dot] com. And thank you to the entire drone community for all contribution & support. Happy Droning! Note: If AURA’s useful to you, you might want to subscribe for continuous unlimited experience. • Good looking, but…

    1) It disagrees with other drone specific weather apps and even with what I’m seeing outside as far as local conditions. 2) If there’s a Cloud Base feature or setting to enable the readout I can’t find it. Either incorporate Cloud Base or give me a Dew Point readout so I can calculate it myself without opening another weather app. Again, sexy looking app, but I can’t trust it because it’s inconsistent with current conditions I can physically feel and see while other apps are more representative of the actual conditions. I’ll keep it on my device, though, in hopes of a reliable app in future updates. Hopefully the owners will invest their earnings into R&D for needed improvements. ETA: App could use customizations like longpressing a tile to add/change or remove a tiles information. For example, I don’t need sunrise/sunset so getting rid of it or replacing it with something more preferable (dew point, cloud base) or just decluttering and reorganizing the tiles to taste would be phenomenal! Also, needs option to display pressure reading in inHg

Very nice looking app. It would be nice if I’t had a direct tie in to LAANC but it is a forecast app. Love the interface look and feel. It seemed a bit clunky having to go to a different (map) mode to move locations but I get the flow. Unfortunately it doesn’t warn my of the flight restrictions Vandenburg Space Force Base has in place near me. I need to go to an entirely different app to see that. I popped for a year, I’ll see how it goes. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be family shareable. Would be 5 stars otherwise.

I like the app but not for an annual subscription. They do update it to fix the issues (bugs).

    Looks good
  • “Feels-like” temp and other issues

I just discovered the app shows feels-like temp or wind chill index (-3F) rather than actual (10F). Why? Also, I subscribe, yet the app frequently asks me if I want to subscribe and doesn’t give me access to the subscription features without an app-force-restart. I like the idea, but sadly, the app appears to be riddled with bugs and no way to contact support, only showing a guided walkthrough of the app when clicking on Help. With updates to the app appearing very few and far-between, and no support link, I’m thinking this app could be/is abandonware.
  • Very Unhappy!

Just downloaded and subscribed....where is the satellite information??? Update: App is continually saying that a storm is nearby when there is not a storm in my entire state? The data provided in this app is suspect to say the least. I’ve attempted to contact the developer without any response. If you’re going to sell a product ensure that it’s working and provide timely customer service. I have cancelled my subscription and I request a refund.
  • Terrible app

It constantly says that it is not a good time to fly. My other apps are more reliable and prove this app wrong every time. I paid for the subscription to this app thinking that maybe it would be more reliable but it’s not any better. If they don’t get it right soon then I will definitely unsubscribe to it. Constantly says you are in a no fly zone no matter where you are. I travel all the states and this app always says no fly zone. Fix it or take this app off the market.

As I posted my previous review, the developer emailed me with a response to my question - it was matter of bad timing on my part. I take it all back.
