Lovingly designed with an emphasis on craftsmanship and design using an easy interface to customize. Someone there loves koi and the virtues of having a pond around. I've actually had the app sitting around for a couple of years until I finally dug it out during the last half of 2020 to discover a lovely diversion and antidote to stress. I've been running it on a new, mid-level 2020 27" iMac — three ponds that I now visit daily — and it's not even remotely taxing my machine. The app is well-supprted with updates. Thank you for this bit of beauty.

I have had this game for just over 3 years and I played it constantly during college, and now again duirng the quarantine. It's a relaxing, easy way to pass the time. I play it right before bed and it helps me just forget about the worries of the day. I even got my sister to download and she loves it too as she's stuck at home doing online school! The graphics are amazing, and well worth the battery life it takes to play the game :) (your laptop will probably get warm)

I have worked in a pet store for many years and been a hobbyist for decades. This is a very entertaining app that puts you in the pond for hours of relaxation.

My girlfriend and I love this app. We get excited everytime we get to create a new fish and spend so much time fussing over what they will look like. It’s been helpful during the winter when we can’t see our own koi as often. We’ve been using the app to study our koi varieities as well, the developers have clearly done their research and its easy to create all of the traditional colorings. Five stars!

I’ve been enjoying My Koi for over 3 months now (my oldest fish is 140 days today!). The concept is great: my very own koi pond anywhere my computer is. The interface is easy to use. Watching my first fish grow and develop allowing me to add more to my school was quite captivating. I love being able to see my fish from above and below the surface of the pond. It is nice to be able to dive down and swim with my koi, watching them interact with the environment and each other. Occasionally a fish will have a “seizure”, holding and quivvering in a vertical position. I just tap on the fish to get him or her swimming aright again. I’ve noticed with the current version of the MAC iOS (High Sierra 10.13.3) that there is a dark circular shadow above the pond. It moves as I move around the pond’s surface. It isn’t visible from beneath the surface, however. Odd glitch, but not a show stopper. All in all, the purchase price was is a good investment. I’m grateful to the developer for such a peaceful, creative app.

    升级High Sierra后发现问题,删除后再次安装,还是花屏,不清楚是不是兼容问题。 另外,cpu占用过高,希望下一个版本可以改善。
  • Has potential, needs an update

I’ve had this app for a decent amount of time now, and while it was fun at first I’m now mildly bored of it. I’ve unlocked all but one of the fish, and once I’ve unlocked the last one I’m not sure what else there will be to do in the game aside from watching virtual fish swim around. An update that adds a breeding component, more koi to unlock, incorporates rare items that you can collect to put in your pond, or really any addition would be appreciated. Don’t get me wrong, there are components of the game I enjoy a lot. The sounds are lovely (honestly some of the background noises are better than you could find on a whitenoise/sleep app) and the visuals are really nice! It just feels like there’s a lot of unused potential here. Considering it was only a $2 app, I’d say it was worth it—I just wish there was a little more to do or unlock.

Nice and relaxing, but I can’t see from the overhead view on my 2016 MBP. colors are all pixellated like a dying video card.

Really a soothing relaxing way way to pass time. Even if you don’t want to actively play the sound effects are very relaxing and calm. incredible graphics and its obvious so much thought went into the creation of this game. I love that you can set the rain, or no rain. Set water color and plans (not to mention leaves). Forget paying all sorts of money for those nature tapes!! This has bullfrogs, thunder, ripping water and all the sweet white noise sounds you could ever want! I come on several times a day to feed my sweet babies and watching them grow and mature! I am excited to see if maybe we will someday be able to change the plants too! I get so excited when I get a new fish to add. I also found this by accident and it is seriously the best 2 bucks I ever spent! I am super excited to see what the developers do with this. PS~ I am running a Mac Mini so don’t be afraid! The levels of color and quality are adjustable for any Mac that meets the requirements.
  • Best $2 I’ve spent in ages.

First, I don’t care for fishing and have no desire to have a fish pond on my property. That said, this is a truly superb app. Found it by accident on the App Store and I’m very glad I did. The most relaxing, beautiful app I’ve had on my Macs in two decades. Graphics are great on my 27” iMac. Processor not over-taxed at all. Being able to generate new fish and species is a wonderful touch. Very customizable - sounds, music (ambient - very good quality), water color, leaves, time of day lighting - two views - above or level with the pond. Rain if you want it. Leaves or not. And the new fish are immensely customizable. They can be named! Four of my children are swimming around in the pond as I write. I hope I remembered to feed them this morning... I’m not able to come up with anything negative about this app. I had a feature idea which I emailed in and almost immediatley received a well-crafted response. This may be the most relaxing and downright pleasurable app you’ll have on your Mac. Very highly recommended!
