Game is setup for you to fail. You have no control over the wins. It is an excellent example of how technology can be abused by people. If you enjoy feeling frustrated, cheated and manipulated to spend money every single time you play it, then this game is for you. Every single time! Again and again you would be left with 1-2 extra move needed to complete the level. It’s meant to frustrate people so that they give in to spending money. Games like these just make people feel angrier, bitter and cheated. Mission accomplished playrix !

This game has potential to be number one. I like the interesting problem solving. However, there are some issues, as other raters have mentioned. The game is obviously skewed to make you spend coins, or money, and counts on the impulsive human nature to do so. The games, in my experience, are either rigged, or has bugs. Not every one, but a number of them. In some games, for example, no matter what boosters are used, or how many, I am left with one or two items, as if trying to push me to spend coins to purchase a ridiculous 5 lives for 900 coins. I am very good at puzzles and have played on other devices to med high levels and rate in top ten or number one in many competitions on both Garden and Homescapes. I spend money occasionally, more for the benefit of developers or because I do not like a level and want to get through it. However, I have found that some levels, regardless of what I do, the boosters do not work as they should, or I do not get the normal boosters I should get within the game. For example, putting together two rainbow discs or balls does not clear my field, as it should do. Planes sometimes do not clear items on take-off. Worse, if I am stuck on a level, and I choose to use a booster, say double planes, on the superhard levels, I play ten times and then after I am sure I get plenty of planes, I will choose double planes to accelerate. However, the games are skewed, because it will not give me the option of making planes at all throughout the game. If I play again without double plane booster, I may have the opportunity to make ten planes. This is obviously a way for the developers to make money, because there is no way to beat the level until you have played it a hundred times and you are refusing to spend money. Sometimes you are given 16-25 turns to beat a particular game, but the items each are hit three times before dissipating, meaning it cannot possibly be beat in the amount of turns you have unless you get really, really lucky. Therefore you are forced to extend life or keep repeating the same game. For example, one game, on one device, is stuck. No matter what I do, extend lives, throw ten boosters, etc, it always ends the same, with the same amount of items left. I have probably played it forty times, yet cannot beat it. I have been stuck before, but not like this, and always pushed through. There is no way for me to bypass this one game, and it is going to cause me to remove the game since I cannot proceed. Also, there needs to be more reward for super hard levels. I have already quit playing Gardenscapes because it became ridiculously stressful with the timed bombs, and I was actually playing to relax. I see the developers have made some changes, but if the developers do not make more, they will lose my business. UPDATE: After our team winning, I found that I am being hit with impossible, difficult levels, as though it knows you have coins to spend and will not let you win until you spend them! My boosters do not work as they should, and it is obvious that the levels are stacked to force you to use up all of your coins and boosters. No matter how I play, I end up with the same amount of pieces left. I went from 9th place to 49th, where I have always been in the top ten or twenty. This seems very shady to me, and like other players, I find both Gardenscapes and Homescapes to no longer be a fun game puzzle, but rather a game of luck, and with so little reward, not sure it is worth the time or money to keep playing. Sorry, developers, but you need to hear us and make some more changes. The fact that many people are addicted is in your favor, but eventually people will get tired of this, and a better game will come along. HATE THE ALARM CLOCKS. They need to be rated as hard! Kind Regards, Nonni. UPDATED REVIEW: Is it just me, or is this game becoming more difficult? I am finding myself stuck on one out of three -five games on average, with even easy ones being difficult. Cannot ever complete side games. I also noticed that every once in a while developers are asking for ratings ...but only after they give you a bunch of easy wins! That is why it is scoring so high on stars! The 'rate me ' link has disappeared, so now you have to go into the app store to rate. Getting pretty tired of this, and no longer find this game healthy, or fun. I have actually removed the app now, after being stuck on an alarm clock level which I played through two entire events. Done. Not fun any more.

I recommend not getting this game unless you want to shell out money. It's a shame because it's quite cute and addicting, and the story is good. Unfortunately, they start to make the levels so hard after a while that completing them is next to impossible without putting in hard-earned cash. I wouldn't mind if it were every once and awhile, but it's gotten to the point where it is next to nonstop, and it's getting annoying. I love the little mini-games as well, but they are far and few between, and when they do appear, they are very brief and not worth enough coin to amount to anything. If they cared just a little more about the consumer and less on trying to drain you before you leave, I would keep playing. Until then, I'm a bit disappointed.

I’m replacing what I thought was a fair review, despite its performance issues with this: The icon has updated to reflect its low cost nonsense ad ‘puzzles’ that have nothing related to the game. That should be all you need to know - this is a cash grab 100%
