  • No longer works sadly

I loved AnkerBox (prior review below) but it no longer works. I have tried frustratingly for the past three time to rent when I NEED a battery and the app says network not available and the box won't spit out a battery. Very sad and frustrating to see a great product go by the wayside. This product could have succeeded had Anker invested in some marketing instead of hoping people spot them at a bar and try them. --- This product is AWESOME. So slick...your phone is dying, you open this app and moments later a battery is ejected from the machine for you to use for free for 30 minutes. Desperate for a longer charge? $1.99. Easy. And you can return the battery to anywhere that has these things (they appear to be EVERYWHERE in Seattle). They are very smart too...without asking they know what kind of charger you need (lightning or micro usb). Highly recommended!
  • Convenient but so spammy

I really liked renting chargers from AnkerBox when I needed to, but I changed the app settings to not allow notifications and I still get 10-20 notifications a day. I have never had an app override my settings like this before, but it's so obnoxious that I'm deleting the app. I don't know what else to do.

For my use case this was probably perfect. So I was visiting Seattle and my battery was low. I was at a restaurant that had an AnkerBox. I thought it looked cool, cuz I'm from San Francisco and we see new tech like this a lot, and I realized it could solve my problem! So I gave it a try and was happy to get 30 free minutes!!! I was expecting to pay right away, so that was nice. Took only 3 minutes to figure it out and add my credit card. Then I could have enough battery to use Google Maps to be able to get back to my AirBnB! Thank god! & Love the ejecting device, so futuristic. Bring this to SF. :)

Saw the box, download the app, used the charger for 10 minutes, didn't get charged. Do you realize how game changing this is for a guy who likes skinny jeans? No more phone cords or charger plugs mucking up my silhouette! Hurray!!!!!!
  • Great idea, horrible execution

Only one out of four of the locations I was taken to exist, resulting in a long walk to nowhere and still a dead battery.

This app says you rent a charger for a day for $2, but if you return the charger and take it out again the same day, you get charged again.
  • Rented, went to return, box was off

Rented a box for a quick charge, eager to top off for 20 minutes before I had to meet up with friends. Went to return and the box was no longer working and I couldn't return it. Guess that's how they get you to hold onto it for long enough to charge you the daily fee. Do yourself a favor and avoid this terrible service.
  • Great concept and execution!

The entire workflow of getting a charger, charging my phone and returning was seamless. Keep up the good work.

I have an iPhone. Where ever I am at it will never let me get charger unless I am connected to wireless network. So even though I have LTE or 4G the boxes that I've tried to rent from says I'm not connected to Internet. When I know I clearly am through my wireless data.

Want throughly the whole process of downloading and payment info entry. Then charger didn't work but I was charged regardless.
