And if you’re wondering what tech reviews say about Gemini 2, wonder no more: we’ve gathered some of them below. WHAT MAC EXPERTS SAY “I’ve been an active user of MacPaw’s Gemini software since its inception, and Gemini 2’s release today has made me fall in love with it all over again. In just the initial scan, Gemini 2 found more files and more places where I could intelligently clear and save space on my Mac.”
- 9to5mac “If you want to clean up your Mac, but are trepidatious about digging around in your files and accidentally deleting something important, Gemini 2 has a lot to offer and makes the whole process very simple.” -
iMore “With Gemini 2 there’s little reason to fear duplicates. It has a polished, intuitive user interface and the brains to differentiate copies from originals by testing them against nearly a dozen different parameters. It’s also much faster, especially compared to digging through thousands of files and folders the old-fashioned way.” -
MacWorld SUBSCRIPTION AND PRICING Some features are only partially available for non-paying users and can be unlocked with a Yearly Access plan. For example, the non-paying users can delete found duplicates only manually via Reveal in Finder feature and don’t have access to Smart Cleanup. • Does not warrant a subscription model

It's tragic how the App Store has gone over the last few years, with every other app seemingly believing their product warrants a monthly/annual subscription. I would gladly pay $20-$30 for this app ONCE, but I am not giving this annually just to find duplicate photos. Ridiculous.

I gave them an extra star for suctomer service as they reached out after I wrote the below review This app needs a lot of work, I have a huge database and I am trying out different programs to pair down my collection and get rid of duplicates. I tried this one out and quit after it took a long time to process and then the interface was clunky and not intuitive.

I was using this app a lot in the past and have been foolishly paying for it for several years. Today I'm finding that it no longer does the one job it claims to do. Not only does it not attempted to find similar images (it takes less than second to scan 2,000 images), it doesn't even recognize files with the same name (ex., img123.jpg / img123.jpeg).

Gemini two is a fantastic app for people who pathologically copy and paste without thinking. it was not loading recently, but the developer has fixed the issue in version 2.9.11. It’s back to old form and I’m really happy it is. Thanks.

  • Paid for App, Forced to Pay More

I bought Gemini 2 from the app store before they switched to the subscription model. Now, I cannot unlock the full version (which I've paid for) on a new computer without signing up for a subscription. If I cannot trust them to honor a purchase, how can I trust them to handle my data?
  • Hasn't worked for me for some time.

Like others, i'm always getting an error message about the app quitting unexpectedly.

I had the old Gemini and loved the interface. Saw this version and installed it. Hate the interface and the subscription model. Now the old Gemini no longer works.
