  • Great Game

    By Mr Sal
Needs controller support along with landscape view for it.
  • iPhone X optimization

    By philliphekmati
This game looks tiny, and honestly, awful on iPhone X. A full screen update would be appreciated, even if it is an in-app purchase.
  • Almost flawless...

Great remake of a classic. Now the bug driving me crazy is when you use any of your gear as an item(like the lighting staff) the delay is really long. You almost think it's going to crash any second. Fix that and you got a five star translation
  • Bug report

This game is great, I would give it a better rating, but I've played all the way to my first encounter with a Hargonaut, and I noticed that choosing an attack it is called Hargonaut, but its "The [monster] attacked" thing said "TheHargonaut attacked", so please fix the battle name "TheHargonaut" to "The Hargonaut".
  • Game breaking glitch::fixed

    By Presdawgy
Updated: now that it works it's a great game. Square Enix: fix the bug on this game. Otherwise it's completely broken and unbeatable. Don't buy unless it's fixed.
  • Error Report

    By Great C'thulhu
Not really a review so much as reporting an error. Game froze while on the top floor of the southern dragon's tooth while playing on an iPhone 7. I had a set alarm on my phone go off just as I encountered an enemy "Sekerleton", dismissed the notification (swiped up on the pop-up) and the game stopped responding, sound stopped and had to force-close the app. Not sure if it was caused by the alarm starting during/before the battle started or if it was caused by dismissing the notification while in-game. Other than that, this has always been one of my favorite classic game series, you did fairly good work on this title, aside from losing some of its old charm without the original action menu. Still five stars.
  • DQ for Life...

    By Lenny Spaetzle
...longtime fan from when this series was called Dragon Warrior in the USA. Beyond hyped when they ported the series to iOS. Alas, there is a minor bug that makes it very difficult in the late game stage - Using ANY item for its special ability, (aka - Power Shield, Wizard's Staff, etc.), takes 20+ seconds to use. Please fix so I can finally face Hargon. :)
  • Questing Greatness!

    By Curtis R. Shideler
Dragon Warrior for NES was my first in the Dragon Quest series. And I hadn't played another since until these iOS releases. So, being my first time playing DQ2, I am very excited! This game is a great retro JRPG, and well-worth a few bucks. Now, I've got them all on iOS except for VII, which is still pending release in the US. Hurry up, Square-Enix!
  • Bug fixes

Just adding this review to show SE my appreciation for addressing the bug that made this game unplayable. (Admittedly, it did take them pretty long to fix what seems like a minor yet gamebreaking bug.) Seems to be fine now, and it's a fantastic classic jrpg, and it's probably the best version of DQ2 out there.
  • Pretty good port
