I’ve been using the app since it first came out. It’s great for meal planning for vacations, camping and finally party prep. It has all my favorite recipes ready to go when cooking for 50+ people. Yes it crashes occasionally, but I do have more than 200 recipes.
  • No longer being updated…

I recently wrote a glowing review for this app and I’ve loved it for years. Then I finally got a new iPhone and realized why this app has so many bad reviews: it constantly crashes. It has not been updated to run on newer phones, which is so disappointing because it is a fantastic app. It hasn’t gotten any updates in 3 years so I don’t have high hopes that this will change. I don’t want to cancel my subscription, but I think it might be time to check out the competition.
  • Was awesome, then updates stopped

I loved Cheftap for years - it was ahead of its time when I first signed up. But suddenly the developers stopped pushing updates and the app experienced frequent crashes. It feels like the developers just forgot about this app and their customer base. It’s a shame. Also, Cheftap’s export format was so poor I ended up having to re-import most of my recipes by hand into a different app. The exported html files didn’t even include images or a consistent structure (e.g., half of my recipes were missing the “Instructions” and “ingredients” headers). I hope Apple takes note and removes this app from the store if the developers aren’t going to maintain it.
  • Used to be great but needs an update to be usable

I’ve had ChefTap for several years and have the paid version too. The app has gotten so bad I'm cancelling my subscription. It crashes frequently when viewing recipes and every time I search recipes. It’s sad because this used to be a fantastic app.

Cheftap use to be a good program. That was when I got it 4 or 5 years ago. I’ve been reporting a problem since 2018. There has not been a minor update in 2 yrs and there has not been a major update in 5 yrs. They seem to have given up on the program. Nothing has been fixed. When you clear the list, it aborts on whatever device you happen to be using. I have a iPhone 6s+, and a iPad Pro. I also have an older iPad. The program blows up on all of them. Its ability to sync accurately is highly questionable. You have to check between devices to make sure old items are not still showing. Sometimes an item that has been deleted and then sync’d will mysteriously reappear on one of the device when they sync even though no other device added it or shows it when sync’d. I notice the App Support no longer works when you click on it. #apple; #remove from apple store; #apple store; #app store; MY NEXT REVIEW WILL BE NOTED AS ZERO STARS EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE. ____________________________________________________ I first brought this to the programmers attention 12/2018. Then I emailed them again 7/2020 regarding the same issue because it had not been corrected. The message was that I would not see a change until he pushed out a new version of the APP. If you look at the version history, it looks like they haven’t released an update in 4 years except the 2 that addressed items that if not corrected might have resulted in them being booted off the APP Store. ____________________________________________________ Other than this, I really like the product. I like how I can pull in recipes relatively easily. Grocery list don’t always sync properly, but since I do most of the shopping items not clearing from my wife’s android when I clear them from my list doesn’t bother me. I have another list that works in realtime. It would be nice to see that feature incorporated into ChefTap, but I’m not holding my breath. I expect more like one day to try and use it and find Apple has removed it from the store thereby disabling it on all of my devices. Would I buy it again? Absolutely NOT!

Not enough updates to charge a yearly subscription fee. I paid a one time fee for Recipe Keeper and I am much happier with that.
  • Best recipe app! Beyond happy

I’ve used all kids of programs over the years to track recipes. ChefTap has EVERYTHING you need in an app. I can’t say enough about it! Easy to add recipes, pictures, reviews, it makes a grocery list. It’s the best!
  • Very cheaply built app

App doesn’t work well. On top of the restricting basic features like cloud syncing once a week kind of completely defeats the purpose of storing your recipes using their cloud. Additionally none of the desktop photos on my recipes show up on the app when it does finally sync. Find something else
  • Doesn’t do what it says.

I am one starring this app because it doesn’t do what it says. I chose this app specifically due to an article stating it as top ten recipe keeper apps of 2020 and it’s compatibility with Allrecipes.com. The app starts you out with 5 unwanted recipes that go towards your 15 recipe limit (before you are forced to make an account). You cannot remove them from your list, I do not want recipes for blueberry pie are rainbow mashed potatoes. I continued on without deleting the app anyways. I used it to import a Bloody Mary recipe from Allrecipes. Worked just fine except didn’t import the picture. It did import three other versions of the recipe as well that didn’t have any information in them. This app doesn’t deliver. Not willing to try the paid version. Not well done.

It would be nice if the app worked all the time, it seems like there is constantly one glitch after another I sure hope I can get on for my Thanksgiving recipes because right now every time I get on the app it throws me out.
