    Better apps out there that doesn’t have such high fees to buy and sell ( eg facebook marketplace, Poshmark) and customer service is apathetic and do not want to solve your problems, just to quickly close the issue.

    My first purchase on this platform was a nightmare. The seller was a problem on his own but everything was compounded by the sales system and the poor customer service provided by Mercari. The system is set up with old the seller’s money until the buyer receives and confirms the quality. Great in theory. Problem is UPS screwed up on the delivery which then triggered a downward spiral wity the seller claiming I was stealing from him to the Mercari system stabling due to the issues with UPS’ notification system. The Mercari “help” page was unable to address my issue. The Mercari phone line does not provide a human to talk to in my area. I had to find an email address on a third party but was provided a series of contrasting and ineffective solutions ending with them just giving up and rating the seller themselves on my behalf. This is problematic because the seller violated the conduct rules but ended up with a positive review while leaving him free to rate me however he wants. I’m giving them 2 stars only because I did receive the product as advertised but I will never use this platform again.

    I was Seriously thinking about selling on this platform. I was reading through everything and there was one thing that just wasn’t clear. I looked EVERYWHERE! NO WHERE on this site does it tell you from which location you would be shipping packages! I’m not signing up and giving them my personal information to find out the closest shipping location is 150 miles north, east, south, or west!! I live in the country so I NEED to know. I went to FAQ section…that was a LOT of help!! IF you’re already a seller or buyer on their platform. I’ve been a businesswoman my entire life and I would think an app such as this would make the Home Page user friendly. You SHOULD have a FAQ for people who are interested in buying or selling on your app. How much business have you lost because people could Not find the answers to their questions. I got so aggravated that I left the site but the more I thought about it I knew had to leave a review just in case someone from this company takes the time to read them. I sell on other platforms and this has Great percentages. Everything was looking really good except for the shipping. One other issue that needs addressing in shipping department is about how the Company supplies the seller the shipping labels. Are there charges for them, etc,.? Please, go read some of the other platforms instructions on shipping labels and pricing, etc,. Totally Irritated

    Mercari is a terrible platform to sell. You will get zero customer service. The platform is a total thieving con artist scheme. There is no protection and mercari is known to scam people out of their earnings by fraudulently changing shipping prices and lying about it. I only sell junk on here that I am ready to give away or throw out, and even at that I’m about to delete this app for good. Good riddance

    i’ve loved mercari & it’s app for over a year - saved searches, fair selling fees, nice organized appearance, message system about items, rating system, returns protected, community experience has been good. however, last month mercari decided to advertise “no selling fees” - sounds great until you realize they attached that 10-15% to BUYERS! you think you’re paying the agreed upon price plus clearly marked shipping costs but then you’re hit with another $8 in “service & processing fees”… um, no! not okay! also mercari will not help with excessive or unreasonable surcharges potentially charged by carriers which is discouraging also.

    I’ve purchased a lot of items on this app. I really liked it. It was easy to get the things I needed at a reasonable price quick. I recently noticed that there’s more fees. Processing and another for the buyer. When will it end? Higher the item price higher the fees. We already pay outrageous prices for shipping and tax, now there’s a fee just to buy. Getting too greedy for me to continue shopping on this app. Looks like I’ll go back to eBay or Poshmark.
