I have been reading this magazine since 2005, where I came across this from my boss. I have been reading them since then through my library when I retired from work when they offered it through RBDIGITAL which has now stopped their magazines but Libby and Overdrive have taken over. With all the current state of the world at this time, I trust them as a good source of their topics covered in the magazine and their other outlets. From what I have been reading and do follow up on the items I like They are NOT FAKE NEWS as other in the media.
  • Ads! Say it isn’t so!

    By billev2k
I just opened the New Scientist app, and was presented with an advertisement. I subscribe because I want to support good science reporting, and because I loathe ads. Totally unacceptable. I’ll have to re-think renewing my subscription.
  • Best news reporting ever

    By kibuyu
Super duper magazine full of well written and illustrated stories about - not only science subjects - but much more. I’ve subscribed to New Scientist for 4 decades. I never tire of scanning the news and reading several articles in every issue. The accuracy is outstanding, the insights plentiful, and the humor, puzzles and games delightful. Best news magazine out there.
  • Mixed blessing

    By Oscarssf
Good articles, clunky app, heavy upsell promotions, next to impossible to cancel. Be forewarned.
  • Always a pleasure to see a new issue.

Really enjoy seeing the new issue cover. Graphically a joy. Yet the science is first rate, detailed and well written. Editing is tops. The coverage is comprehensive, meets you with coverage you didn’t realize you were looking for. For the informed lay science reader, this is the weekly summary of your world, bring you the best of the moment as it is unfolding.
  • Great content, service not so much

    By Andysg09
I very much enjoy reading NS. Unfortunately, I keep paying for my subscription and they keep sending me cancellation notices for nonpayment. I then write NS and they say everything is good, until I get the next cancellation notice. Ugh.
  • Addicting

    By Wilke
I get the magazine, and the App, I found the app to be addicting, start reading it and you will not put it down, a amazing magazine.
  • Love the magazine, dislike the app

    By flykitemindfind
I literally typed the title of an article I wanted to find verbatim into the search box and it still didn’t find the The app is also clunky. There’s an arrow at the top left of the screen, and for like 99.99% of apps on the iPhone, that arrow means “go back.” But pushing it instead shows you a menu. This gets me turned around every time. My brain has to make an exception to the convention specifically for this app. It would also be great if there was a way to find articles by topic if you so choose. All in all the articles are fantastic as well as the illustrations. The app layout could use some work however.
  • So glad I subscribed

    Every day learning something new!
  • No better than the choked with annoying ads website

    By AnnoyedCrum
Practically unreadable at times from annoying ads. Not what I bargained for in a hundred dollar plus subscription. Should have tried the 12 week introductory. Oh well I won’t be resubscribing. Waste of hard earned dollars
