Constantly freezes, usually have to restart my entire phone to get it going again. God forbid you want to rewind something…. customer service is non-existent, no phone line, they took weeks to get back to me by email when my entire account froze up and wouldn’t let me access my own books.

when it was scribd it worked exellent. now that its been taken over its ALWAYS “buffering”. sometimes I have to close it out , reopen the app and it STILL “buffers” for 5-10 minutes… also, when you exit out of a book and touch the back arrow the app USED to return to my saved books page. now it returns to the home page! maybe Im old fashioned and not a tech wizard but when Im finished with a book I want to go back to my saved list and pick another book. not go “home” and jack around with a bunch of books that Im not interested in. they DO have tons of titles to pick from so thats why I stay..
  • Great app - hope for more soon!

I really love this app and wanted to make an honest review and give some feedback on what I’d love to see improved. Firstly, yes there isn’t a truly “unlimited” option. The only thing that bothers me about this is I’m not sure which books will count against my (what feels like) secret count of “popular” books. It seems typically I can read about 3 a month? Or maybe it’s done by hours for audio books? It’s unclear. I would love if that was just shown on the app like “this is a premium requested book, you’ve read 2/3 this month” or “you have 5 hours of premium reading left”. Just so I know what to prioritize. That said, I listen to tons of audiobooks and have found that the restrictions cause me to go on hunts for what is not restricted and I’ve found some amazing hidden gems! There are also a lot of new (or new to me) scribd/everand originals that I’ve been going through while in popular book jail. Lol If the app would just some how mark and tell me which will count against this mysterious amount I’m allowed I really wouldn’t mind the system— and reading other’s reviews I think most would agree. It’s just a communication issue. My second ask is for a better way to see percent complete or hours read. I listen at 3x speed (I’m know, I’m the worst-sorry) and I LOVE that the app will tell me how much I have left at THAT speed so I have an accurate look and plan a walk or something with a real number. However, when I’m using tracking applications (I use StoryGraph for example) I can input percent read or hours&minutes read. Both of those stats are very hard to access in Everand. I would love to see one of them displayed more prominently. Maybe it can just be added to the more options dots in the top right for a quick view? Finally, I’m really hoping there will be a widget option coming for this app in the future. I have a home screen on my iPhone filled with all the things I listen in widget form so I can quickly start and stop when I’m in the mood for anything. However, for this app, I have to go into the app and reselect the book to continue listening. Not a big deal, just kind of a pain when other similar apps don’t require it. Over all I love the options for audiobooks. While they don’t have everything, I find many books I’m waiting 3+ months for on Libby on this app. I’ve also started exploring the e-reader option as well and find there’s a lot of books I need to read there as well. I hope the suggestions I gave can help the developers make improvements so I can continue to recommend this app and service. 😊

I already wrote a review, and after I went in to edit it as requested by a developer comment to ask if I contacted CS the review disappeared. This company is unprofessional and shady at best. No where do they list “limits” on their webpage or app platform. Yet when you discuss it with CS they give you round about non specific answers about how limits are imposed. The response is as such “various factors that dictate your content availability, such as conditions regarding the terms we have with our publishing partners, cost and popularity, and your personal content consumption level, among others. Based on these factors, you’ll occasionally see that select ebooks and audiobooks will not be immediately available to you.” Note that it says “occasionally”. If you read reviews it’s all the time and has been going on for years. They do not care to disclose their limits. Every other media rental distributor lays out their limits prior to purchase. Why hide it deep in the terms and conditions? It’s not even in the FAQ. I read 1 ebook and 3 audiobooks, and was blocked from consuming any worthwhile content. What’s left is all 4 and below stars, unknown authors. I understand the need for limits for licensing purposes, but STATE them. And certainly don’t delete reviews when people call you out on it. “This has been a request of others in the past. We do understand readers would like more transparency, however it is not possible. Each title factors into your reading history differently. We are unable to predict which title you will choose to read when so there is no way to provide a warning system. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused you.” Not possible? You can absolutely give a warning before someone goes and signs up!!! Even a range. This practice is shady, underhanded and despicable. They DO NOT CARE to be transparent at all.

Developer is a grifter and every response to the 1000ks of bad reviews- “submit a support ticket”. You NEVER get a ticket. They don’t even respond at all to when you report a problem (or dozens) even going straight to the “describe the issue” “upload screenshots of the problems”, etc. Instead they immediately reply via email “HEY! Rate our technical support Service!” :), When they hadn’t even responded about the problem. Just the fact that you’d reported the problem. DON’T Waste your $.
  • Limit on books per month without saying so

I was happy with Scribd before, but all of the sudden I can’t listen to more than a few (modern) books a month. And I can’t even see what I’ve saved or look up new books to read next month. This service is only $3 cheaper than audible, and honestly, I may not keep subscribing if this limit becomes a big thing. I mostly listen to classics anyway, which I can easily find through LibriVox. Not sure this is worth $12 a month anymore.

The format is a total downgrade. If you're reading on a mobile, it's ok (could be better) but on my laptop it's awful! It's choppy, words are cut off, the ability to expand the screen is non-existent. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! It's not worth the monthly fee anymore. I'm looking for better options....
  • NOT Unlimited

I cancelled after a few months because many of the books I wanted were unavailable because I’d hit a limit I didn’t know about. This past month, it kicked me out of a book halfway through. Better off spending the $12/month on kindle unlimited and buying the books you can’t get through there or Libby.
  • So disappointed

We have loved this happy for years but just learned the iOS for the iPod touch is no longer supported. I’m so disappointed. My daughter loves the audiobooks available through this app and it provides far more than Audible. I will have to cancel our subscription and find another option.
  • Monthly limit

I’m so disappointed because I could have sworn there didn’t use to be a monthly limit so I recommended my mom get her own subscription and now that we’re both paying for subs she hits a limit? I thought Everand was better than Audible because it would let her read way more but now I’m really disappointed. Especially because the page it sent her to doesn’t even specify the limit it just says there is one. Please give an explicit number before people pay you
