    They only reason why this app exists is the people still have a faith in this wonder land. Really sad things are most hosts rejected you without any reply…Some of them only like host females, it seems like hangout dating app….. so rude and disgusting… DO NOT PAY FOR IT…..

    I had used this app on all my travels before the pandemic started. Mostly I used the hangout feature and was fortunate to meet some great people to explore. I am venturing again and so I downloaded the app. I understand adding a fee but why not make it through the App Store? I read several reviews (most are negative) and I don’t feel comfortable giving my credit card information directly. Sad regarding this. Hangouts was a great way to meet people, travelers and locals.

    I started using Couchsurfing 2018 and paid for the lifetime verification. I was under the impression that the point of this would be to never have to make another payment. This was not the case. My account is now locked unless I make additional payments. Because of this decision the community on Couchsurfing has died and it is pretty much useless now. Couchsurfing after it changed owners has engaged in extremely dishonest business practices and I don’t plan on continuing to use the app. There are many other good free alternatives online.

    It is stunning that you've managed to bungle the latest update quite so badly. The sort by last login date function does not actually sort all the results, and the ability to filter by people who are accepting guests is now completely unusable (it just doesn't do anything). It seems as thought it will be difficult to make it any less useful than it currently is, but somehow I am confident you will manage it. We, the users, watch your progress with bated breath.

    First off, this used to be about community and was a free app. Then they introduced a pay wall of 1.99/month, justifying it by saying ‘Covid was really hard.’ Now they’re charging 2.99/month, and this number will almost certainly go up. Whoever bought the app is now using the community for profit… 2ndly I have had fewer and fewer ‘good’ encounters, which has led to me no longer using the app… about 1 out of every 10 people I meet on here is someone who’s like me, and I’m happy to meet. About 7/10 encounters are men who are using this app for hookups… and then 2/10 people on here are just plain weird and ask you to join their nudist household… this app is not what it used to be, shame to say it, but Couchsurfing died years ago.

    I had a Couchsurfing subscription for 1 year. Before my account was set to renew, I cancelled it. However, they charged me anyway. The kicker is my account still says I have a free account and says that I shouldn’t have been charged. I was charged and don’t even have access to the service. To make matters worse, I reached out to the company thinking they could provide me with some clarity on why they charged me. They can’t even find the charge in their system. They keep telling me to reach out to PayPal and Apple. The charge was on my CREDIT CARD, not via PayPal or Apple. They don’t even know how their own system works. Extremely disappointed in Couchsurfing and I’ve lost all faith in their company and app. Whatever you do, do NOT give them any credit card information. This company steals money from the people it claims to “help.”
