  • Got worse

Along with fitness and notifications, the Timer is close to being the killer app for the Apple Watch. The current version is much less usable than previous. With the recent timers at the top, I essentially always have to scroll to find the time I want. And with each recent entry being a full-width button, the preset values are even farther away. And since I’m scrolling, the targets for the presets are never in a predictable place on the screen making it even fiddlier to select the one I want. The reset and pause buttons right in the corners on the running timer view are kind of nice for being able to find them without looking. Though I sometimes accidentally pause a timer without noticing and that’s not great. Besides fixing the regression above, to make the app truly great you would let me control what the default timer values are (my kingdom for a 20 minutes default!)

The latest update moved custom times to the top…ugh. I need the standard timers on top.
  • Change It Back!

Please please please change the timer back to presets on top. The new update is maddening!

I’ve loved this app since I got my watch, but the latest update really screwed it up. Moving recents above the standard times makes the app much harder to use. Please let me move the standard timers above the recents. I time many different things, so recents don’t help me at all. Thanks.
  • Update stinks!

I use the timer app all the time. Loved the way it was set up before. The update moved secondary info to the most prominent place. I use the preset 5 and 15 minute timer buttons most frequently. My recent timers are typically for my washing machine and used far less often. They are also very specific, rather than very useful & general timers. Please put it back the way it was! I don’t want to have to scroll past those arbitrary timers to get to the useful ones. I usually just tell Siri to set a timer for unusual times anyways. I suppose I’ll have to do that for every timer now, unless it gets changed back. But I’d rather not.

I use the preset timers frequently throughout the day. It was very convenient to open timers and quickly choose a preset. Now the ‘Recents’ are on top and I have to scroll to find the timer I want. Please move the presets back to the top!
  • Ruined It

Until the most recent update, this was my most-used Apple Watch app. It was perfect! Now it’s anything but. Apple, it makes no sense at all to put “recents” above the defaults, especially since: (1) not everyone wants recents (I don’t, ever), (2) the defaults are customizable, (3) the recents are duplicative of the defaults, and (4) the recents are harder to read at a quick glance than the defaults. The change to the appearance of the timer view itself is also bad. The previous version was better in every way. Apple, please fix this and do not change something that is already ideal.
  • Recent list useless

Having the preset timers show up in the recents list means I have to re-create my custom timers almost every time, making the recents list useless!
  • No way to delete unused “recent” timer

As others have mentioned this is tedious and not very helpful in this current form The only way to get rid of a long list of “recent” timers is to delete and reinstall.

Please revert to older format where where the “stock” timers were on top sand the custom timers below. That was much more efficient.
