Description

Discover a brand new world of education with ABC Spelling - Spell & Phonics, a fun and free game for parents and children to play together! ABC Spelling is a colorful and easy to use educational game that helps young children learn the alphabet, sound out words, and associate letters with pictures. Play anytime and anywhere, it only takes a moment to turn on your phone and help your child learn the ABCs! Featuring three games in one: Spelling: A picture is shown on the screen with letters outlined just above it. Children match the letters at the top by choosing from the tiles below, placing them in the correct order to spell out words. Fill In Blank: Kids spell out the name of the picture using letters on the screen. There’s just one catch, though: all the letters are jumbled up! Blank Spelling: Letters are placed at the bottom of the screen, but this time there’s no clue at the top! ABC Spelling was designed with both adults and children in mind. Kids will love the bright graphics, the easy to touch icons, and the fun cartoon drawings. Parents will love the report card feature that helps track learning progress. Best of all, ABC Spelling - Spell & Phonics is absolutely free, with no third party ads, paywalls, or other distractions. Features: - Fun, educational activities for toddlers, kids, and parents alike! - Colorful graphics and wonderful animations to help kids learn. - Sounds to help children learn phonics for letters and words. - Report cards show learning progress so parents can help their kids at every turn. - Parents have complete control to set options and customize game modes to make learning more effective. - Collect stickers to celebrate learning achievements! Note to Parents: ABC Spelling is a passion project for us. We want to reach kids across the world and give them an educational advantage. Children in cities, towns, even remote places where cell phones are more common than schools can benefit from a learning app like this one. There are so many kids who lack proper schooling, and that's why we want to remove as many barriers as possible to help them learn. As parents, you can do a lot to help us spread the joy of education. Share this app with friends, family, schools, daycares, non-profit organizations, or simply post about it on Facebook or Twitter. One share, one tweet, can make a huge difference. We're parents ourselves, and it's our goal to keep making free educational apps for kids. We need your help to make that happen. Every child should have a chance to learn the basics of spelling, phonics, and numbers. Together, we can give countless kids an opportunity they've never had. Thank you! - Best wishes from the parents at RV AppStudios

My grand daughter has been playing your appps since she was 18 months old. We started with popping the balloons and screen fireworks. She loves the chapters and proudly wear her Lucas and Ruby shirt. She has gone through most all of the apps now. It’s amazing how positive the characters are. She complements everyone including herself: “Good job.”. ” Try again.” At 3 she can read all the 3 letter words and do some addition. Do you have plans to add higher level word(3-5 letters) ? Diagraphs (/ch/, /th/ would be great. I also love how we were able to adjust the picture cards to her needs. It would be great if we could do the same with reading vocabulary. The only negative comment was about you sentence maker. It comes up with some weird sentences that don’t really make sense. These need to be more geared to the language levels of the children just like you do with ALL of your other games. Thank you so much for being there and making such wonder, engaging and positive programs. Cathy

This game is great !!! Do I think a few of the game provide to easy of an answer sense the words are color-coded yes. Do I think sometimes my son minimizes the game when selecting A sticker. Yes. Those are my only two complaints to a game that appears to be completely free and no ads.

It’s a great app and not ads. I think all children apps need to be like Luca and ruby. When the children apps had ads made the children lost focused and what they are learning. Thank you for your apps.

  • ICE ih Kuh eh

I think that says it all. The very first phonetic audio for ICE. Long I, hard C, short E. Doesn’t seem to grasp the silent E concept at all. Next word was TOE, tuh, short O, eh.
  • Incorrect teaching technique

I teach Kindergarten and I was surprised by the incorrect teaching techniques. I played the game for a short time and found that this program was teaching the blending of words incorrectly. For example, this program says the individual sounds of c-a-r, but blends the sounds together to say car. This is incorrect because the letter a does not make a sound when you read the word car since it is being “bossed” around by the letter r. Words with ar, er, ir, or, and ur are part of the “bossy r” family where the vowel is never heard. Therefore, words with these bossy r letters should never be taught by blending the individual sounds together of c-a-r the way they did in this program. It is misleading and doesn’t teach the child why suddenly they don’t hear the a sound in the word car. Also, the program sounds out g-e-m, using the g sound individually. However, when you read the word, the g sound becomes a j sound in order to say the word correctly. However, the program does not teach the child it suddenly changes from a g sound when read individually to a j sound when read as a word. Why.....because this program does not teach the soft vs. hard g sounds and what affects the change from a hard g sound to a sound g sound. My recommendation is the developer should have an educator look over their teaching techniques for accurate learning

These are wonderful apps. Easy to use, no adds or offers to confuse little one. Just simple play and learn.
  • Good, but all upper case

At least 90% of the letters my kindergartener sees in books are lower case. This app is entirely upper case so far. I like the simple activities and colorful pictures, but if you could switch to lower case letters it would be more like real life reading.
