    Got this app initially to create professional invoices. It does that quite well and allows payments through a convenient portal. The emailing my clients interface leaves much to be desired. Disappears if you accidentally click outside of the box, and you have to start your message from scratch. Also recently they implemented a template that is more like something a coder would use and is unreadable until you click a preview button. This is dumb - please put it back to something i can easily read and edit. Time tracking leaves A LOT to be desired. Iphone SE - screens have weird pops and some parts wont manipulate until you save and reenter the log item. Change start time and hours picker won’t pop up. Some dialogs for say start time close out entry when clicking the DONE dialog they present - and is only option yet i haven’t finished! Recently used to close and you would lose the words you had typed about work performed. Does anyone from DEV or Product team even test real-world use??? Auto-time logging is useless as is mileage tracking. Other annoyances in how it works as related to the base template it remembers for invoicing - payment terms if typed in notes become permanent even if I only needed to change them for a current one. Saving certain items such as a Service or adding an item like Materials to an invoice carries over like Notes section and you can wipe out a lot of work you did on a document. Same if you need to make a change to a client (like address alteration). DEVS - Please focus more on fixing quirks and (un)usability type stuff instead of adding more integrations.

    I have used this app for 8 years. Huge fan but something is broken on the expenses tab now with ios 17.4. The app crashes every time an expense is entered. This should be a critical item being addressed since 17.4 is no longer a beta release.

    I called twice to confirm that they could ingest and add expense receipts via email. Not only could they not after all, I got this explanation “.. this is a bug our Product Development team has to investigate what caused the bug to occur and then proceed to fix it. Since this process is not linear and requires investigation and searching no ETA can be given.” Weeks later the same. Then I tried to cancel .. this is one of those companies that make you call to cancel. Only an Account Manager can cancel you account. They’d probably say it’s to protect your data or something, but it only took one click to delete my account and all my data, so that argument seems moot. I’m currently ~ 15 emails in and 2 x 46 min+ calls and they still haven’t cancelled. The account manager isn’t answering my calls or calling back. The cost is attractive, but this isn’t a good company to work with. I moved to QuickBooks, not that much better, but at least the features thy promote work. Update: They have still not deleted my account. I have emails form 5 different support people who provide the most confusing messages (like they will anonymize me and after that be unable to communicate). What they still have done, just cancel the account.

    The FreshBooks app has had bugs since I began using it about 16 months ago but I could get by. For the last week it logs me out while using it and doesn’t log what is input kost of the time. I have been trying to log into it for about 30 minutes now through my Google account and it is telling me that Google has deemed it “Not Secure” and to “Try using a different browser”. How am I supposed to track my mileage? This is so fricking aggravating!! Do yourself a favor, use another system. I still cannot import my expenses and this is the nail in the coffin for me. I’ll be shopping alternatives now.

    New software like this is bound to have some bugs. The issue is that, after being a Freshbooks customer for the last year, having generated over a thousand invoices with this software, there are a couple of clear issues. 1) the web version is good (not great) but the mobile version is not only programmed to have significantly less functionality than the desktop version, what has been programmed is very buggy. You’ll need to close and open the app, delete and download, and contact support regularly. It’s a bit soul crushing. If you plan to use this software “on the go”, I’d really encourage you to shop around. 2) the customer service team is dysfunctional. They have multiple offices for CS and I don’t think they have a connected database, as tickets handled by one CS (UK) group seem invisible to other CS teams (US). This results in weeks-long response times, needing to explain issues multiple times, and a lot of resource investment to “make” Freshbooks work the way it’s advertised. Plan to do a LOT of problem solving in your own whilst you 🤞that CS comes back to you. 3) CS is often only available over email. If you do call, they’ll give you an unspecified hold/callback time. For the last few days, it’s been playing phone tag with Freshbooks customer service to solve for basic issues. Sometimes you get lucky and connect with someone who has an answer, but most times when you finally get an agent, they’ll need to research the issue and 🤷come back to you at some stage. All in all, it works but you should factor in a few hours a month to smooth out the issues. It is getting better (not needing to use a different email for each account was a good addition), but as updates are released existing users often won’t benefit because their client setups predate the updates. My advice might be to start with a competitor and switch to Freshbooks once they improve a bit.

    I’ve been a user of FreshBooks since 2018 and the app has always had weird bugs here and there. But lately it seems like the app crashes almost every 2 to 3 minutes even after uninstalling and reinstalling several problems persist, the app, tries to hand me off to the website from time to time, and the website tries to refer me directly back to the app creating almost like an infinite loop.

    Been a long time freshbooks user. That said, my time might be ending soon. On the first and end of the month, the website crashes due to a high traffic making it impossible to send timely invoices. The app has gone from bad to worse. Doesn’t remember login and doesn’t show or sync up to date invoices. Talked to support multiples times and their best solution was to delete the app and redownload. I think most small business owners use freshbooks for its simplicity. That said, if the app or website can’t process normal actions, it’s not worth it. As a long time customer, please make these changes or I’ll have to find a better platform to use.
