  • Decent sound on available hardware, but better sample resolution not available on fastest ipad

I’ve been using 275 for about 4-5 years on my 2nd gen ipad pro. It sounds decent at 1024 samples, but it really starts to shine at 2048 and above. However, on my 2nd gen iPad pro, the latency at 2048 (42.7ms) and 4096 (85.3ms) was unacceptable. Recently, I upgraded to a ipad pro 6th gen, which should be 4-6 times faster than the 2nd gen, but the latency times are exactly the same. This is disappointing since Ravenscroft is the primary instrument I use with my midi keyboard.
  • Sounds good, but unusable

A metallic high pitched sustain release sample over (at least) middle two octaves. Would like a refund, but prefer they take my money and hire beta testers. Purchased around cyber Monday 2023. iPad Pro 4th edition iOS 15.6
  • So awesome but needs a major update for GarageBand

This app is my go to for a specific piano sound I really enjoy when I’m using GarageBand but now it crashes a lot and every time I try to export the audio recorded using this app from GarageBand, there is no sound. Empty. I will still give it five stars but please I hope you see this and try to update it ASAP, since it hasn’t been updated in 11 month now 🥴
  • Does the job, sounds great!

I am not a pianist yet, I am a student. I bought this mostly so I could practice hand exercises, scales, and chords on my ipad, while I am traveling and away from my real piano. I tried many apps and this one has the best sound quality and adjustable on screen keyboard size. It allows me to replicate the keyboard size closest to a real keyboard with slight adjustments for the range I need to play for the given exercise or scale, while confined to the dimensions of the 12.9 inch iPad screen. It does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it does what I need it to do.
  • It’s worth it

In my opinion this is as a real sounding a piano as anyone could ever expect from an app based source. It puts the Korg module to shame. The only thing lacking is the ability to half pedal. No app supports half paddling so I imagine it’s something to do with midi protocols. But man, I really do miss half peddling.
  • Love this piano.

The is such a great sounding piano. It’s has become my daily driver when I travel. This is the piano I use. Excellent sound. However, I wish you could midi map things. Other than that, I highly recommend.

I’ve been playing piano over 40 years and have become very picky about piano sound. The Ravenscroft 275 really delivers! I don’t believe there is any hardware keyboard that sounds as good, including the expensive red one which everyone loves and it happens to be the only one in production which I like. But I don’t own one. I have the Ravenscroft 275 and a really nice 88 wood keyed controller. It’s a better sounding option for a fifth of the price. Yes, Ravenscroft 275 really IS that good! If you are used to bright pianos, it may sound dull and washy at first, especially if you are just trying presets which: I don’t use. But it’s so tweakable, you can make it not just brighter, but actually change the character via the timbre setting, making it sound more naturally brilliant. Anything can be overdone, but I’ll guarantee that inside there is that special tone you are looking for. And it is sometimes just a tiny timbre knob movement away from “good” to “WOW! That’s IT!!!” Don’t be afraid to tweak it. There’s golden tone in there, just waiting to be discovered. Then there’s the velocity curve which changes how it responds to just exactly where you need it to be. It DOES NOT matter if your controller has velocity settings! You can do it all to perfection right within the app. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m very excited about this app. I use it 2 hours plus daily and I have used it all the way back to iPhone 4s and IPad 2. It’s not supposed to run on those, but there’s another testament to the tweakabilty of the app. You can change buffer size and sample rate to allow to older platforms or clicking/ artifacts you may get on certain never ones. Trade off will be in a little added latency but it really does still sound absolutely stunning at 32 kHz!!! I’d choose this piano at that rate over most anything else at any bit depth and sample rate. YES… I really would!
  • Comparing piano programs

Of the 3 piano programs I currently have, IGrand, CMP and Ravenscroft, I have to sat this one was my personal favorite. All these programs have their “star piano” and each is good for its own setting but overall for sound, playability and simplicity this one is what did it for me. Like another user stated it is good but needs minor improvements. Update the reverb and make the piano sample like 500 mb larger or more. It would then be the top overall app.
