  • Used to be a fantastic, but now extremely slow to load and constantly crashes

    UPDATE April 2024: This app used to be nearly flawless, but with each update and “new features” added, the app becomes slower and slower, and now takes about 20 seconds to load, has become slow and clunky, and constantly crashes, especially when switching to a different app and trying to go back to Player FM. Changing your podcast refresh/update settings to “update: never” helps a little bit but not much. To be fair, I am subscribed to a lot of podcasts. About 400. This may be a factor if it is trying to update so many podcasts at once. But there is no longer a manual update option. I am going to try deleting/unsubscribing from maybe 100 of my podcasts and see if this helps. But I shouldn’t have to do this, the app should work smoothly even if I have a lot of podcasts. I hope the developer will fix this soon but I have turned off automatic app updates on my phone because each update of this app seems to have more and more problems. My old review: This has the most useful features of any podcast app by far and it is very reliable! You should go to settings to configure it just the way you want it. Can stream pods OR download. The interface is better than any others once you get used to it. The only confusing thing is that you need to press the buttons at the bottom twice to flip the view. Sometimes it pops up a list of new episodes instead of showing the tile view of all of your different podcast subscriptions. Wish I could turn this feature off because it is very annoying. You have to click the button a second time to make the page flip. Also “share podcast” feature doesn’t work. Another annoying thing is the “ Listen to the latest” pop-up screen, that you have to click skip to use the app. Everything else about the app is fantastic.

    The app started subscribing me to random podcasts and downloaded episodes without my permission. Taking up very limited iPhone storage space.

  • Episode advancement issue

    When I start listening to a podcast that has several seasons, this app screws it up. I start at Season 1, Episode 1, but every time the episode ends, it goes to Season 2, Episode 1 instead of S1E2.

  • Terrible UI and doesn’t always save your place

    A couple times per week, it starts the podcast over from the beginning rather than continuing where I left off. Very frustrating! Terrible UI UX and flow. Very difficult to find the screen with podcast controls such as forward 10 second and back 10 seconds. I’ve used a lot of podcast apps and this one drives me nuts. Canceling my subscription.

    Poor UX design, hard to visually scan episode list for a podcast. Have to open a menu to download each individual episode. Should be quick single touches to select each one.
