The app constantly signs you out of your profile for no reason. Blocked artists and content keep coming up as suggestions on your homepage. And if you search for a track in your collection, it’ll play just that one but you can’t start there then continue to play or shuffle the rest of your library. It’s also annoying how easy it is to touch the screen and accidentally change what’s playing. They have a lot of duplicate or error profiles for artists too. Awful and I’m finally ready to switch to another platform. The functionality is really useless.
  • No functioning customer support

They do not have a functioning customer support system. The support chat is AI and only repeats whats already on the website. Email responses take more than 12hrs or not at all, the last message was more than 24hrs ago without any response. Attempted to upgrade to a family plan but could not through the app, website, support chat or their customer support email. They state the account has been upgraded but the app and website contradict that and there has been no confirmation or email of any sort. I asked the support member to forget it and please leave it an individual account but have received no response. I attempted to change the account on the website again, you can click through the process but it makes no actual changes so I gave up and cancelled all together. I was able to get a family plan through another app and had my family members up and running in less than 5 min, today would be day 6 trying through Tidal customer support. I don't understand what happened here and I don't think they do either. Cancelled the subscription after ~10yrs of use out of frustration. I liked it while it worked just don't expect any to be able to manage your account after it's initially set up through the app, website or with their customer service reps.
  • Tidal has major potential!

I’ve been trying to find the right music streaming service that has good recommendations and lossless audio. Tidal does meet some of those expectations for sure but there’s just a couple things I wish they could add. I wish they could slightly expand their library to compete with Apple Music and Spotify. Don’t get me wrong they have most of what I’m looking for but there are one or two songs that I miss. But overall Tidal is a very good streaming platform for audiophiles and people looking for good music recommendations.
  • Why is it “free”

It’s free to download the app but you can’t even listen to anything on it for free. Should just charge for the app… so people don’t waste their time downloading it just to delete it

It’s worth the money to treat the musicians correctly! I’ve been impressed with automated playlists around artists or specific songs. They suggest new music, playlists for whatever you need, and have search by genre, title, and more. It’s easy to use and easy to make your own playlists, too. Great app and works on your computer, too.
  • No custom music stations and difficult to edit playlists.

I love making a station from various artists but that feature is not available. When I want to remove a song from a playlist I have to exit the playlist and then find the song to delete it.

Here’s yet another app I’ll be deleting and never using again, thanks to a sudden change in its user options with little to no communication. TIDAL is now forcing listeners to pay a subscription to listen at all. Hard pass. I’ll listen to local radio and continue to purchase music directly from artists I support instead.
