  • Good shows, bad app

    By Kayak patty
The shows are very good but the interface is not. The most aggravating thing happens when I fast forward - the close captions get out of sync!! It’s horrible. If I don’t finish watching a show or movie and come back to it later I usually have to fast forward to the place where I left off. When I do that the captions are so off that I can’t watch. This happens when I’m casting to the tv. Not directly on the iPad. Also, when I finish watching something and try to go back to the main screen, the app just goes black. Can’t do anything. I then have to do a hard close and reopen it. All in all the app is pretty aggravating. Once I finish a few series I’ll probably cancel and just stick with BritBox and Netflix.
  • I want this app to work so bad!

    By Fiveholts714
I have been paying for months and unable to watch. For some reason I have to sign in again...and the app recognizes none of my email addresses or passwords. I emailed Acorn for help and was told the email address I used to contact them wasn’t on file and basically figure it out myself. Still paying and not watching. I thought of moving to Britbox but their reviews are just as bad. I sent in one more request for help...

  • Awful.

Can’t even complete the initial purchase. How bad is that?
  • App doesn’t work well

    By eml0206
The content is great but I continually have problems logging in on my iPad and my Apple TV. When I contact customer service, they ask me to re-install the app which takes time and frequently doesn’t work. Annoying.
  • App problems not resolved (update)

    By ElraDreamer
Update: problems appear to be fully resolved. I love this app! (Old review) I am giving 5 stars because until the latest IOS update we were able to use the app on our iPad attached to our TV. We love the shows and the subscription price. However, it is clear that they need to update the app. We can still see Acorn TV via an older iPod attached to the TV, which means the problem is specific to the IOS upgrade. The older iPod cannot upgrade the IOS and the app works fine on it. We do not have Apple TV so cannot comment on that.
  • Fail.

Acorn is fine...the app is ridiculously bad. The new version has GIANT IMAGES for every listed episode and I have to quit the app if I want to move back a screen.
  • App quit working on iPad and iPhone-long time subscriber leaving

    By Sling Oldtimer
I have been an Acorn subscriber for several years and my preferred way to view Acorn TV has been the Acorn app from iTunes on my IPad and iPhone. I travel a great deal and I enjoy having my favorite shows available to me even when I leave the U.S. However, I have not been able to use the app on either device for 4 or 5 months. I get a pop up that says I need to "update my profile" but when I put in my login and p/word, it says "unable to update profile". I had contacted Acorn through the email provided on the app and received a response within a few weeks stating that they were looking into my problem. I have not heard from anyone since. Support is non existent. The only thing they do well is collect the subscription fee.
  • Bad quality and no support for TV app

    By ❤ 
When watching on an AppleTV the stream regularly gets blocky and blurry, sometimes pausing to buffer. This is Acorn. I have no trouble with Netflix, HBO, Amazon, ESPN, or anything else. I’ve got a solid 150/10 connection I never have trouble with. The app both on iOS and, more importantly Apple TV, does not integrate with the TV app. This means that searching for shows in the TV app doesn’t include Acorn TV in the results nor does the recently watched section show anything watched on Acorn TV. The missing search results is really bad since it means you need to search in two places if you want to see if it’s in the AcornTV app as well as I our other apps (like iTunes, Netflix, Amazon, etc.). Not much point in having the app if your global searches won’t check it. 😔
  • Finally A Good Apple TV Experience

    By THaley
The previous versions of the Acorn app on the Apple TV were the worst I have used on the platform. The previous Apple TV app lacked many of the basic features expected in a basic TV app. It was very different from the iPhone and iPad versions. The latest version (3.0) finally brings a quality Apple TV app worthy of the content. 👍👍👍
