The app is changing over the years. Things that used to take months and years to be able to get are now available nearly instantly—it’s kind of dumbed down I suppose. Guild versus guild was a big reason why people played it, because that was about the only place she really got any competition one on one. Now the game has turned into a bunch of repetitive activities that basically mean you click and click and click. The game was originally designed for the PC, but now they are moving it towards mobile devices, which I guess is where the market is, but you can’t do nearly as much on a mobile device as you could on the computer browser. During the pandemic, it was a great place to hang out with my wife and play, but now that the pandemic’s over, I expect more from a game. I still play it because my wife does, but other than that I would be gone.
  • NOT for kids

Designed to keep you at your computer for as long as possible. Changes have been made by Inno and none of them are new ideas, just more of the same. This is an adult game, definitely NOT for children. It’s a complicated game of math, strategy and team (guild) play. Many players are hard core, use money to further advance their status in the game (you can play for free but top players don’t). Would you sit your kids at the blackjack tables in a casino? Then don’t let them play this game. Adults only.
  • A game that’s past its shelf life

What started as an amazing game 10 Years ago with ongoing server wars in guild versus guild has recently lost its core to a combination of power creep and losing the unique aspect to the game. Years of city improvement through building historic great buildings has been replaced with monthly pay to win building a that often beat those stats. Along with that a thing called Quantum Incursions has become the latest way to get more real world money out of the players. If you enjoy a game that costs $100+ to compete, this might be your gig. If you’d rather a game that costs less than $30 per month, look to other choices. Yes, this is a decade long player that finally hit the breaking point, so take that review for what it’s worth. This isn’t the game that hooked me or distracted me during the recent global crisis
  • Quantum Incursion is a waste of time!

The Quantum Incursion addition is LAME and a huge waste of time! Inno needs to just get rid of it already. This is the worst addition you’ve done to the game yet.
  • Money Grabber

Once you get past the third level, roads are required. Roads require diamonds. Diamonds are not easily given. I was great til this realization. I like the game tho, it’s like The Sims for different eras in history.
  • Developer refused to enforce rules and kick bot users

I’ve been playing this game for over 4 years. If you are considering playing you will need to be okay with losing battleground sectors to guilds that have bot users. These players are money spenders so the developer doesn’t do anything about it. Another thing you will have to contend with is slow servers. On opening day of battleground the lag will be so terrible you will want to throw your device through a wall. Apparently bot users make this worse. The last thing is updates can be very glitchy. Most of the time they are minor annoyances but sometimes it can be lagging. I’ve been told by guildmates who have been playing longer than me that contacting inno or leaving a review doesn’t do any good. If enough people do then they will be forced to.
  • Not what I expected

This game is fun and could be better, first off my main issue is that you can’t rotate buildings a all which seems ridiculous cause your force to have an awkward city and especially when it comes to having space and you have to spend more than you need to. Other than that is that you can’t just play as your own thing and always having to worry about people from robbing you and this whole guild thing. I played this game to build and have fun with strategy not play with other people who are toxic and always have that excuse of “stop complaining” when new players ask for help or advice.
  • As a long time player, this is a great game

There are a few things that push a new player away though… first of all it takes 15 minutes to download in game when u first get it and also compared to other mobile games, the UI or layout is just ancient and old. I love the game, but i dont see new players joining when there are better looking and easier to play empire games
  • Not for me (anymore)

I gave up this game about a year ago after playing it for about seven years. It definitely sucked me in, so if you’re really into games like this, you’ll love it. just be careful though. Real life is better!
