  • Game changer

    Noom has not only provided the emotional support and encouragement I've needed to keep going forward in my weight losing adventure, but it has also given me information, facts, and concrete tools that are helping me finally master the naysaying demons that have foiled all my efforts n the past. I believe I am going to make it all the way to my goal finally!

  • Good idea abysmal execution of app

    I have tried this program for almost 6 months. I really like the idea of caloric density. However almost everything else about the program needs reworking starting with the app. Entering meals is much less user friendly than MyFitnessPal and trying to follow group conversations is impossible. In my group, the majority of the participants have complained about how unfriendly it is. For instance, if you start a conversation thread or comment on someone else’s and another participant responds, you will get a notice but good luck trying to find it. I gave up on the group because of it. Then there’s the individual mentor assigned to you. Most of the contact between myself and my mentor felt like canned responses on her part. I never felt like she was really invested in my weight loss. Additionally, when I did try to start an actual conversation with her it would take DAYS for a response. For a while I thought that was just my bad luck, but my husband signed up and quit after two weeks because of the same thing. Then there are the articles assigned. All is the articles are new for the first 2 months, but after that they are recycled so I have given up on those too. Finally, if you do pay for the program then decide you want to quit, there is no prorate. You’re stuck until the end of the 2 months you prepay for which is why I have stuck with it for almost 6 months. I lost track of when I started and missed the deadline before the end of my 4th month to tell Noom I wanted out. So I was forced to pay for another 2 months. The money I have spent on this program is not worth the little amount of weight I have lost.
  • Better than some diet plans

    The intuitive eating strategy is nice, no punishments for enjoying a cookie or going over calorie budget. It’s a lot more realistic and supportive compared to other diet plans. I did the two week trial for $1, but for a 4 month plan, it’s a little pricey for what I’m looking for ($130). But my biggest complaint is in order to cancel the subscription I have to message my “goal specialist” instead of just doing it from the app. Not a huge fan.

    This is not a gimmick diet, it is really a course that helps you understand what your relationship with food is and how your choices affect your ability to reach and maintain a healthy weight. I love it, I’m learning so much! I highly recommend it.

    Good morning 🌞 I am learning a lot about my health and awesome ways to help me loss weight. Noom is very informative and funny in explaining why I think and respond to food. Triggers, Thoughts, Actions, Consequences. I say these words to myself so many times a day! This really helps me with temptations! I enjoy reading NoomNerds everyday!
  • Highly disappointing

    I have tried out many different fitness apps. I hate that this app has no way to sync to a Fitbit or Garmin. So, the only way to get a step count for the whole day is to have my phone onme 24/7. The food tracking capabilities are sorely lacks and seems to encourage foods that are not homemade. If you do not know the calories or nutritional breakdown of your homemade meals you have to guess and it is probably not correct. I plan to delete this app immediately after I finish this review. Not worth the download or money ( if you take that route).

    This app claims to be unique in that you get custom coaching from a person, but most of the communication is actually prefabricated and generated by a computer. Whenever I asked a specific question that couldn’t be automatically answered by their program, it would take several days for an actual person to respond (including the question, “Are you a person or a computer?”
  • 19 pounds and counting!

    I’ve never tried weight loss programs until Noom and I’ve lost 19 pounds in 10 weeks — and counting! I’ve been most impressed by the short articles that provide insight into the decisions we make with food and health. I’ve also been happy with the personal coaches and goal setting. If you are mentally ready to start losing weight, Noom is a great program!
