  • Video Quality Looks Awful After Export

I have been a VSCO subscriber for a long time now, but lately the video editing component has been rendered absolutely pointless. In-app, the video filters/lightness/contrast looks gorgeous. But after saving to my phone, the video is compressed to look dark and flat, regardless of what editing I did in the app. Have cancelled my subscription and will let it expire for this year.

VSCO used to be the best app for simple, satisfying photo editing on mobile. You could access most features for free, but if you wanted to upgrade for advanced features the prices were reasonable (from what I remember). Now pretty much everything is locked behind a pay wall. You can’t even adjust shadows and highlights without being prompted to upgrade. Such a simple tool should not be a premium feature. But what’s even worse is that if you use one of the “premium” adjustments by accident or curiosity and try to save the photo you’re again prompted to upgrade. There should at least be a discard option to revert the image to not be using that adjustment. But no, you have to manually navigate back and reset it yourself. They’re banking on your momentary frustration forcing you to upgrade, probably to the cheapest monthly option which you’ll then forget about and be charged for for the rest of your life. This is partially hyperbole, but this is what all of these companies are relying on. This has become a rant that’s about more than just VSCO, but I think it’s important to speak up that we won’t tolerate this subscription prison. I also want to be clear that if you offer something valuable you should be able to make money from it. I want you to and I’m happy to pay, but we need a paradigm shift because this never ending subscription economy is not sustainable for consumers. I’ll be deleting VSCO.

VSCO used to be one of my fav companies. I used the Lightroom presets before it was an app and I’ve loyally followed along with all the changes. Recently I can’t even open the app or get photos to load. I paid for it and can’t even use it, not even the free stuff. It’s not even recognizing my emails. When I finally did get logged in, all my former user stuff was gone and it just freezes and crashes.
  • H-how did the app come back again after I deleted it?😰😰

So I decided to download this app bc it was on the best editing apps chart so I downloaded it when I opened it it said sign up I didn’t sign up after 1 month though then I finally decided to sign up then I went into the app I was confused what to do bc I could not do anything after 5 weeks I found this weird app on my tablet that I never seen before it had like a blank background and complicated design’s of black and I never installed it then I deleted it this app then I went to watch video’s on youtube and capcut then the next day the app appeared again I was so scared and confused then I went into the app again and I saw the recording orange dot on my screen then I quickly shut down the app..then the next day It appeared again…and the other app that I never downloaded showed up again…then I decided to leave it be btw please do something about this. -thatonepersonwhodeleteshatercomments

  • App is usually always unresponsive lately

I’ve been a long time user of VSCO and do pay the yearly fee for the filters etc. I also use it on an iPad Pro as well as my iPhone 15 Pro. However, I’d say in the last 6-8 months maybe longer? It’s been completely unusable, unresponsive and completely freezes 99% of the time I open and try to even do anything. Unsure what may be going on on the server side and backend but I know the front end is worthless now. Which is sad to say because of how much I truly love the app and editing features. Hope it resolves itself sooner or later. But as of now I cannot recommend the app in the current state. At. All. Stay away for the time being.
  • Dust crash I find it would’ve been a huge waste of money. Good thing I remembered to cancel.

I’d give it a lot of stars but all I’m trying to do is a dust FX and it crashes every time on an iPad Pro with about a terabyte of memory go figure…

  • Problem with app

I can’t get this app to work over the past week. It’s either crashed everytime I open it or the images in my VSCO library or on my phone photos won’t load.
  • Love paying $59/ year for constant crashes

Let’s be honest VSCO…y’all make SO much profit off this app, the least you could do is generate a smooth flow and fix the crashing. Can’t even open photo library without it crashing, making it nearly useless. Fix it, especially for your paying customers.
